Was reading through Color Schemer's info pdf and didn't see the answer.

Trying the understand the relationship of colors in the color wheel.

In the color world, is the color at the top of the wheel considered "opposite" to the opposing color at the bottom?

Also, what are the little black arrows indicating??? (see image)

Thanks!

Ok, for eg in art blue and orange are opposite, so yeah the colour wheel is when you open it opposites this is in art and design, this does NOT always work in web design, that's why the colour wheel on CC's colour wheel is easily manipulated by the right menus. The arrows I've posted a screen grab to help you understand.

Learn something new every day. I use the color wheel a lot, but never associated the arrows with the corresponding colors on the right. I've changed them, and just ignored the arrows I guess. Thanks for bringing that up Vitamin, and thanks for clearing that up G'Kar! I really think that is something that should be added to the documentation though. Hope Scott picks up on that! Or did I miss that too? :P

And see that dropdown menu where it says 'Analogous colors'? You can choose complementary, triadic and a couple of more colour combinations.

I wouldn't be so hard on yourself, I think sometimes even programs that we know well can surprise us sometimes in what they have to offer. The color schemer is quite a nice little tool and can be quite helpful for what it's designed to do. Yesterday my wife was using Zoner 15 pro, I thought I knew everything there was to know about the program and I just watched my wife use some text over an image using formatting and I said I've never seen that before, I thought that's nifty.
