Hi all
I have CGB but have not used it at all as my concern has always been the fallback for non compliant browsers.
My reluctance to start playing around with CGB has been I dont really understand *how* to actually build in the fallback side of things and wondering if anyone has any links or tutorials that would help me (and am sure others!) to understand how it all works together with RSD?
Thanks in advance
Jamie
CGB fallback
If your version of CGB is the free one, then the fall-back feature is not included. In the paid version it is.

CGB and RSD don't play together as they can't open each other's files, but the upcoming V3 is said to do so. We don't know exactly how yet.

There is a page somewhere on the CC site that describes this. I can't explain all of it though.
In the style pane, in Apply styles, you select design for grid, or fallback first. Or you manage views and create a view for grids. I am able to turn on and off grids, and design for old browsers. I believe I can also design for flex layouts. So, the browser does not support grids, it ignores grids then uses what it knows about. That's the gist of it. I can;t explain all of it because somethings don;t work they way they should, it seems, and I hope CC makes more videos. For example, all of the CC showcase websites, only have a design for fallback, but all apply grids...

This is what I gathered, and I believe the current implementation or UI that way CC has it, does not work well, but I hope they change it. If you want a fallback, you need to first create a support query, before building your site. Otherwise, it defaults to grid, even though it will say "fallback first." I say this, because of the showcase themes - they are all grid, and have no fallback for IE11, even though in the styles pane, there is no query for grid. So, I believe, once you create a query, then the code is inserted for it to work they way they intended. I think this is the case, because I would have hoped CC to have included IE fallback, in their showcase themes.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
