Hello People of the Forum

Back at the build of my site and just want to make sure I have all the files in order and how it should look. I will now start adding additional pages. This is what I have as my file and folder setup:

main folder - J12 Increaser website
sub folders - j12 images, j12 website_website, .vnu

If anyone can give a quick look at and tell me if this is good it would be appreciated.

Thank You

Dear People,

I have gone ahead and tried to create additional pages but I can not find them within documents or within any folders on VSD. What I did was click on add new page. I then titled them and ID them. I ID them as follows... purchase, photogallery, contact. I then saved each on and instead of finding them in documents I find them under a new j12website_website. In this folder is files and then all of the pages listed... index, purchase, photogallery, contact. They are not found under the original j12website_website but a new j12website_website folder that was created. In the original folder j12website_website the only folders there are files and index. What am I not doing or doing wrong? Can I just eliminate one of the j12website_website folders and put the complete one under my main folder?

Again the site build on the VSD platform is not the problem. Getting the setup, settings and folders right is a bit confusing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

To see your pages after you create them click on "Show Page" at the top of VSD then click on the one you would like to work on.:) As far as the file structure don't worry about it. Do a save as to the location that you wish and VSD will put all the files it needs in the proper location.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Eric Hi,

This doesn't seem to be the case. I go to VSD and click on open website. It opens the site but I also notice that it now reads in the very top on the left side... CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer-.vnu.vnu.
It has .vnu twice. When I click on the show page the only page that appears in the drop down is the index page. The other pages are not listed even though I can find them in my documents under another j12website_website. I did create these new pages in the VSD when I had the original index page open and even duplicated them so they all look the same. It seems that two j12website_website files were created. Not sure how to proceed. Any help here and the more step by step specific you can be the better.

Thank you

In VSD click on "File" then look near the bottom of that menu for a list of recent websites that you made.:)

Eric when I look under file at the bottom it shows three websites but they are all my J12 sites. I am not trying to create more then one site. Somehow when I tried to create new pages to add to my original site I created another site. I see Yesterday's site and then I see a sight created today. I opened Yesterday site and started to add new pages and now I have two sites. What do I do? Can I delete the site I created today and try to just work off of yesterdays site? If yes how do I delete the sites I don't want? Can I just get rid of them from my documents? If so will VSD recognize they are gone or whill VSD still see other sites? When creating new pages should I always click save as instead of just save? Again the more detailed you can be as to how to proceed the better. It is not the site build it is getting the files correct. Maybe I am making it too complicated. Please if you can get me back on track it would be so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! appreciated.

Why would it read .vnu.vnu twice?

Thank you

Yup just go ahead and delete the files that you don't want. If you pick the wrong ones you can always restore them from the recycle bin. When creating new pages you only need to click "save".:) VSD will save the new pages to the current site being worked on.:)

Eric sorry to keep asking the same questions but I did that. I created new pages from Yesterdays work and just clicked save. Then when I went to look for them in VSD under show pages they are not on the site but they are in my documents. Why? And why did it create the .vdu.vdu in the upper left hand corner instead of just .vdu? Just not sure how to move formward. If I create new pages and they don't appear in the site I created them in but another site. Is it because I have duplicate sites and VSD doesn't know where to put them exactly? By deleting the other sites will it correct this? Should I delete these from my documents or is there a way to delete them from VSD? Sorry for all the questions it is just that I get moving ahead then hit a wall and not sure how to move forward.

Thanks again!:)

I'm not sure what's going on with your directory structure, but one of those sites has the pages you made. Try opening the other one to see if their there.:)
