Hi there,

I am using Visual Site Designer (latest registered version)
on my PC with XP SP3.

I have been editing my site www.tim.co.nz and specifically www.tim.co.nz/about.html and the page will not save and update. Neither the files in the temp VSD folder nor my tim.co.nz_website folder are being updated.. hence there is nothing new to upload to my server.

Also, sometimes when I do an update/edit I find the images on pages are all out of wack? ie: Some icons/buttons are now the background and vice-versa. I find the re-uploading the contents of the files folder to my site has helped but not always rectified the proplem. - on that subject why on earth does VSD generate many duplicates of images in the Files folder.. I now have hundreds with some 6-7 copies of one image I know is only used once!

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated

Hi Tim,

When I have had this problem in the past, it has usually been because I uploaded the site to the wrong folder. It may take a couple on minutes, but I clean out the files with my FTP program, re-upload and its fine. Another thing I have to remember is to clean out the cache on my browser as the "YUK" will continue for a while if I don't.

Thanks Rod, but the server side it fine.. the time and dates on the actual site files on my PC dont change (even when refreshed) so clearly when I hit SAVE on VSD ..nothing happens..

It sounds like the files are not updating properly. Not to try to put blame somewhere else, but it sounds like you may be having a problem with your PC? I might try doing a reinstall of the program. Do you also have other software running at the same time? The time stamp should update and show when you check out the date modified.

well actually I just did that and it made another website folder with some new updates.. so 1/2 solved I guess. Thanks for your help. BTW check out this page.. www.tim.co.nz/360.html
