I have read the forums on using the VSD to link to a pdf file in my documents (the current way I have my site set up) and I have confirmed that the pdf file is on the server; however, when the link is clicked to view the pdf it says file not found (not in preview but on the web)
I also tried another user's suggestion and used HTML code linking it to my file with width="100%" height="100%" but that makes a little box in the middle of the page where you have to scroll up and scroll down to see the whole picture (not cool)
Please look at this page and tell me on the "download instructions" link what I am doing wrong. Thanks!

Hi Jennifer. The problem you are having is because your download pdf is in the /files/ directory, and not a /Download/ directory. Change your link to http://rockstar4x4.com/files/43704instructions.pdf and it works just fine.
Or create a directory /files/Download/ and move the pdf file to that.
Let us know if you need any more help/

I can't seem to get my club application (pdf) to show from the link on my web page (www.midatlantictbirdclub.com). I think I have it linked as the page above and I have double checked that the file is in the download file folder. The link is http://midatlantictbirdclub.com/www/www … d/app1.pdf
I keep getting the http 404 error.
Any ideas?? Thanks

Try using the standard linking tool in VSD to add the pdf. Highlight the text on your page that you want linked. Click on "Link" at the top of VSD. Now browse to the pdf on your pc that you want to share. Publish and test.

Hi, I'm having some difficulty getting my pdf to appear on my site. I checked through filezilla that the pdf is on the /files/Download directory, but each time I try to open the pdf on the site I get the Parent Directory. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
High lite the text you want to link.
Click on "Link" at the top of VSD.
Click on the Browse button in the properties box the opens to the right.
When you do this you will be able to browse to your pdf file. I suggest placing all you files inside a dedicated folder inside the Coffeecup software/ Visual Site Designer/ Mysite files folder before you add them to your site so you don't accidentally move or delete them from your pc. This also makes it easy to restore you site if you have pc problems.

Thanks Eric, I followed these steps. The pdf is definitely sitting on the host side in the /files/Download folder. However, when I am on the site and click on the pdf link, it doesn't open the file but shows the page name.

The link is "Number 3".
The pdf is listed Newsletter Basney but does not open directly from clicking on the link.
