I've gone through the trouble of designing several sites with VSD. They all look fine on MY computer, but OFTEN, VERY OFTEN, when the sites are called up on other machines, especially on monitors with different sizes or form factors, the pages I've created come up all screwed up.
My buttons are all shifted and objects are overlapping etc. If this is just how VSD does things, how is it really usefull? I find it completely unacceptable to spend alot of time designing a site, only to have it not load properly on an assortment of computers.
Is there a fix to this? Am I doing something wrong? Please Help!
Thanks,
Marc

VSD is useless in many, many ways! You only realize that after you use it for awhile. After spending my money these
guys were not even decent enough to accept their shortcomings.
I finally gave up and got Dreamweaver. In the long run it's cheaper than spending your time with the idiots at CupoCrap, as I deridedly refer to them. A total waste of time and money.
In the end they wound up blaming the "e-mail account". Buyer
Beware, Buyer Beware!

Well, let me jump into the frying pan! I know people personally who use VSD and love it! Their sites look nice and they do all of their own work.

Posting only 1 time to this forum, just to complain will not allow us to even try to help you, and name calling won't get you too far.
Like ANY OTHER PROGRAM, it takes some time to learn how to use it in the best way possible. Ask for some help in a positive way.
Include a link to your site, or the test page you are working on, and be clear about the steps you have taken. Many of us can test your pages with different browsers, monitors and the feedback from CoffeeCup users might help resolve a problem so you don't have to give up. Let us help you.
1. Include a link so the volunteers here can view your site
2. State what the problem is
3. Include a screen shot if you can
4. Can the issue be reproduced (other computer)
5. If it is monitor settings, please include those settings.
6. Include the names of any programs you used (VSD, Photo Galley, Form builder)
Marc, some of my comments were not directed to you (see the post just under yours). You may not be doing anything "wrong", but it could be something simple. Providing the information in my list will help, and many CC users would be happy to help you out with ideas on how to get your site looking the best it can on any monitor.

All of our software also comes with a 30 day fully functional trial so that you can decide if it will fit your needs. You should be able to design a site that looks well in all the current browsers.
In Frank's case, we have been asking for specific information to help him for over a month but refuses to give us the specifics or answer any questions. We eventually just had to close the support ticket.

Frank, I'm a bit curious since you seem to have such love for CoffeeCup and have moved onto Dreamweaver, why it is that you're still perusing the forums. You're welcome to, of course. I hope you find any help you may need with either software you choose to use. It just seemed odd to hang around in a place you like to bash, especially when you're reason for leaving is to avoid hanging around us "idiots." Oh well, like the others said, some people love VSD, while others don't. I think we know where you stand.

highmarc... Does it make any difference if you centre the site on the page?
fm... VSD to Dreamweaver, bit of a learning curve wasn't it!
Several years ago, I was involved with a large football (soccer in US!) forum and we had similar problems with first time posters coming in, chucking in a frag grenade and disappearing into the blue yonder. This seems to be happening quite often lately, silly really! Although I don't use VSD much, I do use most everything else CC and it ALL works. Whenever I've had an issue, it's been down to user error, not the software.

Hi, Folks:
It sounds very counterproductive to me that somebody would go from a $50 product to a $400 product and diss the $50 product for not being all that and a bag of chips. Color me suspicious.
I'm using VSD and I love it. And I'm an old COBOL and assembly language coder! I like it because I have been able to get my website off the ground without having to learn a new "language" right away. I was even able to implement a "write to the webmaster" feature without causing my inbox to go critical-mass with spam, and without giving myself an embolism.
For somebody like me, who's busy in life, it's all about delivering the deliverables, and VSD helped me do that quickly and without really torquing my brain too much. As my website grows and becomes more sophisticated, hopefully so will my internal HTML knowledge.
As a coder, I recognize the importance of "common code," and how it can make an application faster and more efficient. For "Version 1" of my website, I didn't have time to "learn it right," but now I do, so I'm just beginning to get into CSS.
Will I use VSD forever? I have no idea. Even with my COBOL and Assembler past, I'm very visual, so I'll probably use it for a long time. But if/when it comes time for me to change tools, I surely won't waste time bashing the ones who brung me to this dance!
Thanks. But please do fix that "Run as Admin" thing for Vista 64 OS's....

Hehe, it's still around, y'know; but I've been a relational database person for the last decade, so I spend zero time reading or writing code.
And we're 64 bit on the mainframe these days, too.
So, Scott...are you free to tell us when 6.0 will be out? (nudge, nudge)
