I am trying to figure out how to preload my mouseover images to get rid of the delay they currently have. I have found a couple posts dealing with this but none that talked about doing it in VSD. Here is the website I am working on http://www.randyhogue.org. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm not sure exactly, but I would try putting all the images together in the files folder, as it looks like they are in the downloads folder.
this may be the cause of the delay. usually when vsd has images installed it places the images in the files folder, so I WOULD SEE IF THIS WAS THE CULPRIT.(sorry caps)could be way off too.

I just logged onto via ftp to the site and all image files are in the /files folder. The only thing in my /downloads folder are pdf files. Here is the link to the post I read: http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/topic-a … editor/629
The problem is how and where to put the code in that is listed to preload the images so they don't delay.

Hi Paul, I'm sorry for the delay, uless vsd put the pdf files there, I don't believe they should be in there, that folder is usually empty, as a matter of fact I've never seen anything in that folder sense I've owned VSD. How about moving those out of there and seeing if that would make them load better.Paul also the size of the image will also have an affect as to how long it take to upload as well, could try making the big images smaller.

My image files are where vsd put them when I designed it. I just know that the previous link I posted had someone with a similar problem, i just can't figure out their explanation on how to fix it. Thanks.

Paul, I don't mean this as anything, but I just have a question if I may, when I do a mouseover, I place the image where i want it, the I select moveover button, then create, then I select the fill button , here I would select the "picture" button and select the image I wish to use, save the project and then preview it. is this the way you did your mouseover?

I'm sure I am the dense one here, can you provide the visual? It has been so long since I first did the mouseovers in VSD I forgot how I did them. Thanks Bruce.

Thanks for the help, I understand it now. Before I just had the color of the box and text changing on mouseover. But when I previewed it, it always changed fast, just when I uploaded to the web the mouseovers went really slow. Will try this and see if it helps load faster. Thanks.

Paul I also noticed that you do not have the updated version of VSD . have you tried upgrading?
