This may be a stupid question, But:

When publishing my site, the home page publishes fine, but my other pages are publishing to the wrong folder. The second, third and fourth pages are adding an index.html/ to the web address of those pages, which sends it to the wrong folder.

My question is: Where can I look up the actual web page address for each page, and how do I change that page address so it will publish to the correct folder?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How did you create the links to the pages 2 - 4? Of the four options in the dialogue box use the first one. And the options offered up are the pages you have created so far. Choose the one you want to link to.

The web address to all the pages is the same: http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html, http://www.yourdomain.com/page2.html etc. At least, that is how it should be. And be aware that if you go in and correct something outside VSD, those changes will be overwritten by your next update.

John, click on the Page Properties icon (top menu), in there, give each page a name so they're not all being saved as index pages.
For example; all your pages might be called "My Website" (your site name), but each page also needs its own unique name (index, about, services, contact, etc...).

So, you start with your index page and as you add other pages, give them a name to identify them. Keep it simple – lower case, no spaces, no symbols. Then when you save your site, all the pages will be included.

When I created the new pages, I did not create a link that I know of. I added a new page. marked it to duplicate the home page, and made the changes I needed to create the different page.

My home page publishes: www.mydomain.com/index.html
the other pages publish as www.mydomain.com/index.html/about
www.mydomain.com/index.html/members
and so on

the Godaddy support said that the pages other than the home page should be labeled
www.mydomain.com/about
www.mydomain.com/members

They said that the index.html should not be listed on the secondary pages. They said that the home page is posting to the root folder, but the other pages are creating a new folder and not posting to the root. I just thought there may be a place within vsd that you could actually look at the web address of a page, and rename it if necessary. Any help would be great

It sounds like you have left http:// off some of your links. What is a URL to a page that has this issue on it?

That is the problem. I don't know where to find the url for each page. The home page goes as it should, but the other pages are adding the /index.html to the url

when i go to the home page, the url is www.mydomain.com/index.html/
when I go to the other pages the url is www.mydomain.com/index.html/about.html
and www.mydomain.com/index.html/members/html
and so on

the godaddy crew said that I need to change the url on the second and third pages to eliminate the index.html so it will just be www.mydomain.com

I don't know where in coffee cup you can even look at the url's for the different pages or if it is an option to change them.

Let me rephrase my question. What is the URL to your website? I need to see the markup and going to www.mydomain.com doesn't help me here.

Good catch. Yes, that could be it.

I think that is what I am asking how to do. When I go to publishing destinations, it only gives me one option, which is the ftp for the site. I don't know how to look at the publishing destination for the other pages, or I don't even know where to look in order to see an opportunity to drop the index.html from anything.

I can't find where the site is listed with the index.html other than when I bring up the site with the url.
