I have all the latest versions, Registered.

My church has a web team of 4 ppl. Obvioulsy if I build part of the site then send the files to one of the others its gonna be messed up because it will look for things in paths that are not going to exist on their computer. What is a good way to work this out ? Would you be able to use the site itself ? Maybe upload what I have to the web then the next person can download the files off the web and it will create the appropriate paths as its downloaded onto the next computer ?

Also, what if I am running XP and one in the other team is running Vista ? How will that effect it and is it even possible ?

Thanks,

The best way to do this is to use DirectFTP and just edit the pages on the server directly. This way all the images and paths are the same for everyone.

that may be over some of their heads though...none of them can do HTML...just VSD

Scotty,

Do you have a network server at the church? If so, you could always keep the VSD .vnu file on the network server. Only one person would be allowed to open the .vnu, and it would be locked until they are finished.

Can you divide the work, so one person does the photos, another the drawings, another the html, etc.? I don't know how you currently have the work divided, but see if you can divide it up. There is always the option of teaching them HTML.

Can we assign the site folders directly to C drive ? In other words, put all external image files used in the files folder then put them on the VSD so the path leads back to the vnu files folder itself. Put the main Church_website folder directly under C:/ drive.? That way there is no pathways that are personal to each computer like C:/My Documents/Jenny/pics it will just be C:/church_website/ then when I send the files to a team member and they put the church_website folder directly under their C:/ drive it will still work......right?

and if this idea does work, will it matter that they have vista and I have XP..?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
