I have DFTP 6.7 installed that was released on April 15. An error is reported consistently at the moment uploading a file has appeared to be completed. The message is: "Failed (Sorry, the action you are trying to complete has timed out. [28] Additional information: FTP response timeout)". Then, no files seems to be uploaded because they don't show up in the righthand server pane. When, after disconnecting, you check the site then all files are there, so everything is OK. Connecting to the server again shows the next surprise: all "failed uploads" didn't fail at all. They are all there!
Has anyone else experienced this? I hope this can be quickly repaired.

I am also getting this problem intermittently among other issues like timing out connecting to servers also intermittently....
I would suggest both of you to open a support ticket so we can look into this issue for you.

OK, Scott, I did.
I have just updated my DirectFTP to the latest 6.7 version. To my surprise, It can't connect to
my web server now, though all the settings seem to be automatically retained. There is an error
msg saying "Received an abnormal reply to an RETR command ...." (Please see file attached).
I reinstalled the program. It failed again. I thought my web server could be down, but I have no
problem uploading and downloading files using a freeware FTP.
To end my frustration, I uninstalled version 6.7 and installed back the old version. And it works!

Hiya Felix,
What version of windows are you on? Did you have your security software running when you uninstalled and then reinstalled? Sometimes security software likes to get in the way of completing uninstalls and reinstalls correctly and you might need to disable it for just a few minutes while you do that. Depending on your windows version you can try setting it to Administrator and/or Windows XP compatibility mode which could help. You can also try setting it to Passive mode and see if that works.
Let us know if any of those things helps or not

Felix, can you please open a support ticket so one of our techs can take a closer look into this for you? We also just released a new version today that will allow us to help debug these sorts of issues.
If you still have a problem, what I will need is the log file so our developers can analyze what the issue is.
You can execute the log system to give us more information about the issue. Here's how:
1. Select the Direct FTP desktop icon and hold down the Shift key while double-clicking with your mouse. (Note: The Direct FTP icon must be located on your desktop. If it is not, move it there.)
2. A window will pop up. Make a note of the path that appears in it, and then select Yes.
3. Direct FTP will open. Try to connect to your server again and close the program.
4. Go to the path you made a note of, and send us the "DFTP Debug 6.7 log.txt".
Once we have this information, we can help you troubleshoot this issue as quickly as possible.
Thank you again for your help with this.

Hi Scott
I followed your instruction to install the latest version of Direct DTP 6.7.
The same problem persists.
I am now sending you the log file for analysis.
It's very puzzling to us layman. Why version 6.6 works and 6.7 doesn't?
Looking forward to receive the solution from you. Thanks
Felix

Make sure you post this to your support ticket so someone can look into this. I am afraid it will just get lost if you post it here. Also Felix, a new version was uploaded about 30 minutes ago. Can you try the latest build and see if that helps?

I am having the same problem: ftp6.7 cannot upload any files larger than 4-5MB (ie my flv or swf files); it appears to timeout.
I have tried several servers, with the same results.
How can I downgrade back to the old version?
Thanks
Martin
