When I download my .htm files using Direct FTP, there are at least 5 empty spaces between each line of code. Does any know how to fix this?
Thanks.
Direct FTP #4
I've used a few different FTP programs (CoffeeCup, WS-FTP, Cute-FTP) and they all do that on some files, although, my experience seems to link the occurence based on which server I'm using. Some files don't have that happening and some on other servers get the line spacing in there. Wish I had an answer for you, but I think it has something to do with the file system on the remote server and not the FTP program.

Just found a little tidbit of information on this ... when downloading a file from a Unix server to Windows box, the extra lines are typically caused by the file being downloaded in binary mode. It's suggested you use ASCII for transferring text/html files to avoid the extra lines breaks when using FTP programs.
I just tried this on my system and I find the opposite -- binary downloads the program as it was written and ascii added extra line breaks. Go figer -- I think you'll just have to play with settings that work for your connection to your server.
Hope this helps out some.

Changed my settings and started using ASCII for transferring text/html files and I no longer get extra spacing. Thanks for your help.
