Just an update for those following this post. Per CC support, I uninstalled DFTP 6.5.5, ran the cleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com, rebooted the machine and reinstalled DFTP. The program seems to run stable now though a bit slow.

Ran through the steps mentioned in above posts ... getting this error:
********************************************************************************************
There has been an error.
Error running C:\Program Files (x86)\CoffeeCup Software\Direct
FTP/DirectFTP.exe : child killed: segmentation violation
The application will exit now
********************************************************************************************
Anyone got any ideas on this one?

I wonder if yours is a 64-bit related issue.
Officially, all of our software is supported under Windows 7, XP, and Vista 32-bit. However, many of our users are able to use the software with Windows 64-bit running in Windows XP Compatibility Mode. Follow these steps to set this up:
1. Right-click the program .exe file and select Properties .
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Select the Run this program in compatibility mode for checkbox and select Windows XP .
4. Click OK .

Oh good grief ... yes ... I should have thought of that ... newly installed W7 64 and there are only a couple proggies that I've had any trouble with ... thanks for the reminder.
One more question ... is it possible to import my servers from CC HTML into FTP? Or do I have to do it all manually?

I am having a problem with Direct FTP crashing when I try to change directories to upload from. I am using Windows 8. I have restarted my computer and the problem still persists.
Which version of Direct FTP are you using? Are you running as Administrator? That seems to solve a lot of Windows issues with software. I don't run Win8 so you may have to wait for someone else to chime in here. But do try running as Admin and let us know if that works. Good luck.
