Have you added the default directory as '/' ?

Right click on my computer 2 times and open one window to show your files that you wish to upload.
Open the other window and type in ftp://yourusername:yourpassword@yourwebpageaddress.whateveryouare (.com, .org)
Go to the first window and hold your ctrl button down and left click the files that you wish to upload, then right click on them choose copy.
Go to the second window right click on the right window of this file and choose paste.
