Hi. I am using a QR code for a PDF document housed within direct FTP. When I first set this up, I was able to scan the QR code and the PDF opened automatically. Now when I scan the code I am presented with the url address, a search, and then the PDF viewer which opens the document. Every QR code scanner I have used yields the same results. Support for direct FTP says nothing has changed on their end. Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there a setting in direct FTP that instructs the PDF to open when the url address is accessed?

I don't understand what has changed.

I have attached the response after scanning the QR code.

Thank you.

Could you please explain what you mean by saying that a PDF document is 'housed within Direct FTP'? Direct FTP is a program to use when transferring files from your computer to your web domain, or in the reverse direction. As far as I know, it cannot 'house' anything.

The PDF document is on my S drive in direct FTP- it has been transferred from my computer to direct FTP. So yes, it's stored (housed) there- with a url address.

Hello Vikki ! This QR code is somewhere on a website ? Can you share the link with us, then I will investigate this some more. I think what you mean is that normally when people would scan that QR code, the PDF document would be server from your storage on SDRIVE.

I have attached a sample QR code, which is in the form of a label.

Previously I was able to scan the QR code and the PDF would automatically open- now it shows me the url and I need to search for it and then open it.

Thank you.

Interesting. I have used several different QR readers with the same result. I am really confused as to what has changed since I first set these up in April.

Try making the QR code a jpg file instead.

Can you provide a link to the qr code on your site so we can test there?
