The Guy from OZ
I know all ftp programs slow down when they upload folders of many files, the logic to find the file then upload it has to be repeated over and over again. Uploading all the files as an archive is much more efficient. then as I said before use the file manager or a unzip script to extract. As individual files I have tried a few ideas with a programming language I use and it is only seconds in it. What ever algorithm D.FTP uses is as good as it can be. I suspect D.FTP does a verification which when I add that, I get similar results. I will admit my code is a skeleton affair and not the beautiful GUI that is D.FTP
Have had similar problems. Uploading takes forever. Don't notice it much with single files uploading but when uploading a large batch its a nightmare. Been over an hour and still haven't finished uploading wordpress installation files. I have a mac as well and ftp on that is blazing. Internet speeds on both are similar.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
