I have been working on a fairly large project (35 pages) which is image heavy. Noticed software being particularly unresponsive and freezing especially when exporting. On investigation it appears to be associated with the 'img' folder created, each time I export the number of SVG Documents increases rather than being over-written. Looking back at previous projects this appears to be a common problem.

Now not only does FF crash mostly when exporting, sometimes when saving, and sometimes randomly,, but the colour manager thingy that I have with RFF doesn't keep the colours that are in there after closing,,when re-opening a project (except 1 sort of pinky half transparent colour).

This is happening not only to one project but to all of the projects I have currently on the go.

I checked out the image file thingy after exporting (many times exported) the problem you noticed Jeremy does'n seem to happen with mine, just what I would call normal amount, so not sure that would be causing mine to crash,,
I also noticed on RBB something Scott mentioned about someone accidently installing a lot of badly marked up html, (or words to that effect) which apparently was causing crashes at exporting also,, have checked & double checked the html on the projects and all seems ok there,, One thing I have noticed though is that RFF starts to gobble up memory,, and when there is something like 2.5Gig available memory left,, thats when crashing seems to be worse.

Also now it has started showing NOT RESPONDING mostly when saving (which can take up to 2 minutes, even thogh its not a huge site ) when exported to open the folder thingy, also goes to NOT RESPONDING to and sticks for a minute or so.

Getting a little bit weary of it to be honest

I so hate to hear that! Are you ever getting any of those alert dialogs that we talked about before or does it simply just crash? Also, have you ever been able to replicate these issues on another system?

We will be looking seriously into these issues as you should not be experiencing them.

Hi Scott
Not had any dialogue messages since the last ones I sent you,, now it goes upresponsive when saving anything, (autosave takes an age to do),, and exporting first when it asks for file location to be saved,, that just sits there progesssing files in the folder where I keep them are bust blank (not the normal blue colour) then I click somewhere in the window, and thats when you get that spinning blue thingy and at the top ff blablabla is unresponsive,, after a while (maybe enough for a cup of coffee (Bali Luak) it populates the folder & I can then save normally.

Exporting is the same where it asks you for where you want put the files,,, same thing as save,,, then when the other window appears about your message has been saved,, have to go through the whole unresponsive thing again until it finally gives you the open folder in explorer bit.

Crashing just happens *windows generic stuff going on"

This happens on both of my machines on different projects *both FF",, It is ok in the beginning of a new project, its when it starts to fill out with content components images etc.

I noticed once that before the crash, that my available ram was down to 2.5 gig (nothing else running except FF (and of course background windows stuff)

I also noticed that if I happened to export the project,, just before autosave kicks in,,(just before the 10 mins like a couple of seconds before) it can also causes the crash,, maybe because of the none responsive bit just starting)

I have run CC insight or whatever it's called on the exported project,, and apart from a couple of things about not passing html mark up(but it said wasn't serious or something like that) everything else seems ok with the exported project (not sure what the validation fails were or even if I would know how to fix them even if I saw them.

Something strange happens now with my colour manager pallett thing (whenever I start FF be it open a recent project or a new one,, its empty except for some horrible half transparent pink colour ( not horrible if you happen to like pink of course), so I am wondering if it's a mix of things,, some with my PS's and some with the software or something.

Not to worry too much still producing stunningly awesome legendary designs, just takes me a bit longer,, the cats have all but disappeared from the neighborhood,, so I am taking to chasing chickens when it gets too frustrating

I just got an error message Scott
but in my eagerness to get the screenshot thingy going I pressed the wrong button and it disappeared before I could get it

but I remember one part of it was something about child being killed (hope that's not literal)
All I was doing was re-styling a couple of paragraphs,, saved it ok (after the normal delay non responsive thing thats going on),, as soon as it finished saving boom thats when the message came up.
Wayan
update
when I reloaded the project,, even though I had already saved it just before the crash,, NONE of the changes I had made were saved

Just to confirm Wayan's observations, the software is most prone to crashing on saving or exporting a project. This appears to get progressively worse the longer you work on a project in a day. Restart your computer and it behaves for a while prior to becoming unresponsive/crashing again. I am not getting any error messages apart from the generic software unresponsive so needs to close. I have taken to saving work every couple of minutes.

This is not the only annoying aspect of working with RFF, the habit of components jumping out of containers/columns is a constant frustration.

The SVG Documents I reported found in the img folder were being generated by Image Placeholders, once these were replaced with images they stopped but the folder had to be deleted each time between exporting to prevent it from just creating hundreds of these each time. The website in question had over 1,000 images on it over 35 pages and I had built a page template containing Placeholders before inserting the pictures.

Wayan, you probably have discussed this with Scott already, but since you seem to be having more problems that anyone else, could it be something to do with your machine(s); your Windows version, the spam/virus/protection, drivers that should have been updated? Or something like that.
Crashes, or 'nearly crashes' appear here too, when saving or exporting after having worked for a long time (hours), or if the project has become bulky. It happened with my honey site, and also with that taxi site that you also were involved in. But such incidents don't happen nearly as frequently as for you. I have one machine (new in Feb. this year) with a clean install of Win 10, and another one which has not been reformatted for some 3 years and has been upgraded from Win7 to 10. Both running just the MS Defender as the protection software.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hi Inger well it's not just one machine this happens on,, I have two machines both set up different both just ruinning windows defender like yours,, maybe it's because my day is a long one,, normal start 02:00am Bali Time still at it 06:45pm my normal day is usually 18 or 20 hours with RFF

It also is happening with others.
