I have changed a site to a new host. Now FTP will not work, Filezilla is fine.

Error message:

141:FTP protocol error: 421 Please reconnect using TLS security mechanism.

I have tried all the protocols in the editor.

Anyone have an answer?

Has your new host given you the FTP access details, or do you have to create them yourself in their c-panel?

Yes they have given me details of one account and it works in Filezilla. I have created another in CP which also works in Filezilla.

I am thing that the security they want does not exist in the editor.

What they say:
FTP & explicit FTPS port: 21

Can you try DFTP? It has FTPS over TLS and SSL, both explicit encryption and both use port 21.

Thanks Inger I could install DFTP and I think those settings would work.

Could you let me know, please with which protocol you get it to work? I happen to know that the Editor is being worked on, so if I know exactly what is needed, I'll recommend that they add it.

I'll sort it later and let you know. I have just downloaded it.

Using the editor to upload is easy and quick.

First I am using HTML Editor Version 17.0 Build 865.

With DFTP I connected with FTPS over SSL (explicit encryption), had to tick passive. Also allow insecure certificates.

Also worked:
FTPS over TLSL (explicit encryption)

Went through editor ftp again - nothing worked.
