How to get juicebox in right place...

Hi folks, anyone bored in self-isolation and up for helping an amateur tweak an old website? My site had a flash photo gallery so have tried to work out how to do similar with Juicebox - in an iframe or outside I can't seem to find the right place to embed it on the page ('other pics' on website - https://www.shd-archzoo.co.uk/otherpics.html).
Also have an ancient photo gallery (https://www.shd-archzoo.co.uk/gallery.html) made with the old free jalbum - works perfectly but I can't figure how to add new bits to it or copy the essentials to another page (then juicebox, which wont show in the coffeecup preview, would be unnecessary) I know the site will make you experts cringe - I started it waaay back in HoTMetaL and have managed to update and expand ok up til now - if there was a way of keeping most of the appearance the same in a drag n drop I would but as I can't find a way of doing that I stagger on ;) Many thanks for any pointers at all! Sheila

Hello
If you are using the FOUNDATION framework within Site Designer then there is an element called "Orbit" which can be made to look just like your galleries without too much effort, and without the need for "iframes "etc

as far as replicating your existing site look& feel, is also easy enough,
BUT
Site Designer isn't like WORDPRESS, it isn't exactly to drag & drop and that's it, It requires some design knowledge & quite a bit of code knowledge (not that you do coding Site Designer handles that for you, but an understanding of what you want Site Designer to do for you is essential but can be learned with help.

I can help by doing some video tutorials for you to follow along with which could get you going and off to a good start. as long as it is the "Foundation" framework, I don't use any of the others) others forum members that use any of the other frameworks (if you don't want to use Foundation) may chip in also with help & guidance here

This is a forum for users of Coffeecup Software. I see you must be a user of some of their products, but Juicebox is not from CoffeeCup (nor WordPress), so It might be hard to find help here, unless someone else by chance are using the same programmes (there are some WP users, but I don't know anything about Juicebox).
You may have to find the support pages for either WP or Juicebox, maybe they can give you the help you need.

Hello both! thankyou for at least being interested! First I should explain - I am using the html editor not site designer and the WP may stand for wordpress in the code but this is not how it was produced - never used wordpress (not sure what existed or what standards were around in 1994 have forgotten how I migrated over the years but not wordpress). Juicebox is simply a program that produces the chunk of code to embed, seeing as how I can't write it myself, the problem is that I can't work out where to put it (or ANY similar) on that page, I tried to put it in the iframe that had the flash gallery but it didnt work, modern stuff seems to have 'containers' and all sorts of things I don't think used to exist? not helped by my 'nav bar' being script produced by a program no longer around and definately not understood by me!

Hi Sheila,

I have taken a closer look at your site. I don't want to ruin your day, but the code seems to be - well - ancient. From the previous century. And long since outdated. More and more people are using mobile devices to go on the web now, and your site is not responsive, so there will be tiny-tiny text, not readable on phones. I really recommend that you do something radical, like redesinging it with a modern tool. While it is possible to use the HTML Editor with responsive frameworks such like Foundation or Bootstrap (and others), you really should grab Site Designer and pop it all in there. You have the text and the images, so what you need is just the layout. And especially if you go for the Foundation framework, you will get a lot of help here in the forum, not in the least from Wayan who has helped quite a few newbies already. With Site Designer you would have a built-in image slider that can be tweaked to your liking.

I did have a look at this Juicebox, but I didn't like what I saw, and especially I was not sure about how to install it. I'm all for helping people, but not for messing up my machine in the process. ;)

Hi Inger, thanks for taking the time to look! Yeah, it is ancient - like me! when I went to Uni there were only mainframes with punch tape etc, then 'intelligent' terminals and then PCs - my 1st one I got specially built so it had much more ram than normal - 2mb  I was sort of coming round to the acceptance of having to do something radical, most of my colleagues use it to track biblio etc on desktops so it was never really an issue with mobiles til now (mobiles being something else not around when I started!). When I have some more time (surprisingly busy just now) I am going to take your advice and look at SD and the help offered by Wayan. Many thanks and keep safe up there in Norway! Sheila

Sheila, you really bring up memories. My first PC also had 2MB ram, and I was very proud when I managed to add another 2MB myself, so having 4MB ram back in 1993 was a real luxury!

When you are ready to dive into SD, come back to this forum (the Site Designer sub-forum), and we'll have you up and running before you know it! The SD programme might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll get into it!
