I have had this problem for the 4 years I have been using HTML Editor. It is intermittent. Sometimes when I change my library and save it then update it on my html pages, the library has changed and now contains a lot of the html code of the page in addition to the library code. Say I have a library with 10 lines of code, made one change. When I go to update all my html pages they all contain 25 lines of code from the Body of one of my pages. Does that make sense? We have both had this problem on our own computers and have it when we install on a new computer. Support has never fixed it or gotten back to either of us. So, does anyone find that obscure code gets into a library when using the update pages option? I've pretty much had it and am now looking for another html editor. I would try one of CC's other software but I frankly don't trust them now.
Example: I just opened my SKPstyle.lbi and this is what it contained:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="generator" content="CoffeeCup HTML Editor (www.coffeecup.com)">
<title>SKP Pair-a-Dice RV Park</title>
<!-- #BeginLibraryItem "SKPstyle.lbi" -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/reset.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/demogrid.css" type="text/css" media="screen"><!-- this is used only for layout purposes; this grid is not live; must be commented out in html markup; see notes in markup -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/SKP2style.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/grid.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
<!-- #EndLibraryItem -->
Oh great...now I just opened my footer library it contains code from another library...this just happened!!!
What a mess

Hi, I'm using the library function regularly, even today, actually, and I have never experienced anything like what you are describing. Is the top of the page with doctype declaration etc also included in the library, even though it is not included in the library item? I think I would try to clean it, also on the pages where it is being used, and see if it happens again. And I would be VERY careful next time I use it, and make sure I don't make any mistake by accident. Other than that I don't have any ideas for you.
Maybe you should remove the commented text in the middle of the library item. I don't know if it is causing anything, but I'd try without it, just to see.

I have not had these problems when I use it.

Oh well, I shouldn't have said what I did some 6 weeks ago. Today I also had this thing happening, and I haven't got the first clue about why. I have been using the library regularly, but today was the first time with the latest build (17.0.864). I didn't notice anything wrong as long as I was working with the library item updating it, so I went ahead and let it update all 40 odd pages of the site I was working on. Oh, joy!
When examining the pages, I noticed that I had each page's own document head, then one of those
<!-- #BeginLibraryItem "SlideinNav.lbi" -->
and after that the other page's document head. After that, there was a new 'BeginLibraryItem' thingie followed by what was the real library item, the navigation. At the end, I had two of the end tags with some code after each of them, first from the other page, then from the page where it belonged.
What I did to fix the pages (after I had cleaned the actual library item), was removing the inner pair of beginning and ending the lbi, leaving the outer ones with all the stuff from the other page in, and then I ran the updating again. That fixed it, I was left with only the contents of the actual library item. I don't know if there is any better way.

I have just tried to see if this happens with mine and the answer is no. It all appears OK.
I have checked my version and it is 17.0 Build 859.
This is strange because I downloaded 864 on 21 March 2021, which I presume I updated.
Please can someone who has updated check Help > About and see what it says.

I don't think that build 864 appeared in March. In my Help > About it shows build 864, but this was quite recent. Perhaps the My Purchases section is showing incorrect dates.

Mine is now showing:

Presumably Help > About is now showing the build as 864.

Mine is showing 859, I think I updated. Seem to recall in past they forgot to update that bit.
If yours is showing 864 I will update now.

The build 864 was released on May 15th. They forgot to change the date, I guess. And apparently, since that library issue was reported in early April, it was supposed to have been fixed.
