Hi, I am trying to change me fonts via Coffeecup's Website Fonts, I created the font I wanted, copied the HTML and placed it in the HTMl through the Editor, uploaded it to my server, and nothing happens. I checked the file on the server, and the changes are there, but nothing happens. Another thing is that I have VSD open with the first page that I want to change the fonts on, and when I save/close/preview, the page if reverts back to the old HTML. How do I change the font HTML through VSD. I wish to change the name at the top of my web page to Script, but am finding that Windows 2000, XP etc, can not view the standard script that I am using in VSD. What am I doing wrong. Thanks, Jackie

To change the Fonts in Visual Site Designer you would use the "Object Tool" that shows when using the "Text Tool", where you would change the font color and such.
To use Website Fonts, which is primarily and header type program you would have to use the "Html Tool" along with the <H1></H1> to <H5></H5> tags with in the code. Then upload all of the files generated with the program to your server, and also use the "Add Files" under the Settings tab and add the files to be able to preview in the default browser.

Hi Bruce, I guess I don't quite understand what you mean for the Website Fonts. I created the fonts that I liked in Coffeecup's Website Fonts, copied the code for the head and body sections. Now where do I put this code? If I place it in the HTML and HTM through the editor and upload it, when I run VSD it changes it back to what it was because I have not changed it in VSD. I don't know how to change it in VSD. You said create a html box with the "html tool", is this done in the body of the web page somewhere? I tried that and when I was asked to upload the files through "Settings" the only file I could get uploaded was the .vnu file containing everthing. Is this right? I am very confused. I read and re-read the instructions in Website Font and just am not understanding it. Hopefully you, or someone can help me here. Thanks, Jackie

P.S. The only other thing I thought to do is to create a JPG through photoshop with my text and copy it to my homepage. Does this make sense?

idan,
http://kellyinfo.com/MyFiles/tutorials/WSFont.html
DL this -it should help you understand how to place it in VSD.
Website Font isn't used as normal text fonts, but for your headers and banners from the <h1> tag to <p> tag. try looking at the link above (Products and Downloads ) to see CC tutorials for Website Font.
In VSD when you select the "T" for text tool then an object window pops up where you can select the font you wish to use, the color and some other items. What will be in that selection is usually what is installed on your computer and not any flash fonts you may or may not have made.
Check it out and please get back with me.
Bruce

Hi Bruce, I will check out the download, as for the Text via VSD, I have used them already, but found that the fonts that I want (script type) will not display on windows 2000 and xp computers. So I thought that using the Website Fonts would give me an override option. Am I wrong? Thanks, Jackie

Yes Jackie that is wrong. like I stated only headers and banners and such.
It won't change the font on your comp or in vsd. the fonts on your computer must also be on other peoples comps for them to see it also or it will show the normal windows fonts. you could probably make it work using the html tool all through your site .......

Hi Bruce, thanks for the info. would an alternative be to use photoshop to create a .gif or .jpg file using text and place it on my home page? That is the only solution I can think of to give me the fonts I want. I my only concern with this idea is the amount of download time these files would take. Thanks, Jackie

Jackie I would say, if you got the font in true type, and installed in your computer, what was it script right, then it should show up in the object windows font selector. use that if you wish to but other people that visit your site may not have it so it will only show the default fonts of their computers.
Using photoshop would only make a large image of your text which really isn't worth it to me. If you wish to do something like that, then just make your script font with a tag of <h5> size 12 or 10 add paragraphs</h5>
with website font and html tool in VSD.

Hi Bruce, I have downloaded the file you sent me and my understanding of things is a lot clearer, I love these tutorials from official newbie, why are they not advertised more? Can anyone join? Anyway, I will try using these fonts and see what happens, if worse comes to worse then I will con form to a standard font. Thanks, very much for all your trouble. Jackie

Hi Bruce, further to my previous message, I have used the Website Fonts, and while they work very well, I am having problems with the Font Size, no matter what size I place on them they stay the same. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks, Jackie
