I am finding that the NOTES section isn't importing completely.

For some sites there's a slew of questions which one could answer such as mother's maiden name and that rubbish. Clearly for security reasons I am not going to use my mother's real maiden name but a made up one. So I have all these listed in the Notes section and other relevant information.

So I log onto one site today and having entered my UserName and Password I am asked for a certain string of information which I have stored in my Notes section. And it's not there. The amount of data imported into the Notes is less than what it was before.

Please can you tell me how I can get all of my Notes imported and, secondly, how do I get the same database opening the next time I enter? When I start this application I have to search for the database even though the 'Open Last Used Database' option is selected.

If these two things were fixed then this would be a worthwhile update but at the moment when the update loses data it's somewhat less than useful, I am afraid to say.

What version first were you coming from and how many lines and characters were in the Notes field in the previous version and how many lines and characters were ported into v6?

As to getting the same database to open, go to the Preferences and check the box, Automatically open last database.

My notes went across ok ver 5 to ver 6.

Perhaps the notes did transfer across OK, but could not be fully seen in the normal viewing panel or the Edit panel > Basic Info. I find that to see my longer notes fully I need to go to the Edit Panel > Registration Info.

I was using version 4.0 Build 91 before. Only the first three lines of my Notes were copied over. This is useless if I want to see more data as the display seems to favour style over substance. Is there any reason why the Notes can't show all of the Notes as they did in the previous versions because all the space available is for three lines only in the current version.

Ah, you are correct. However this is not a great way of having to do things particularly as this forces me into Edit mode rather than ReadOnly mode. For the time being this has to be used as a solution but it's not happy.

One thing that you can't do with the Notes is to select a keyword in there and copy it to the clipboard. This is a useful function in version 4.0 that I used all the time for answers to security questions.

Can this functionality be brought back please?

The next update of LockBox will address most of the issues mentioned here with the Notes section. Watch for the forum post for the announcement of the release.

Clicking on the plus button at the bottom right of the Basic Info section of Edit Account gives extra fields, and they work to allow copying to the clipboard in the same way as Usernames etc. I find this facility ideal for the answers to security questions etc., and quicker and easier than the selecting, cutting and pasting from the Notes in version 4.

While doing this in Edit Account I avoid clicking on the down arrow on the Custom button at the left of the row, as otherwise one seems driven to calling it Telephone etc. I prefer to leave it showing 'Custom'.
