I've been keeping my lockbox (old version 3.1.0.0) on a zip drive on my wireless router so that there would be no more than one database holding our passwords.
Today I got the great idea to install an update on my local PC. After installations, I opened the file in the new local version.
Somehow in all the mess of moving stuff around, I lost my most up-to-date database.
Lockbox is smart and made a backup (pw_1) but I can't get to it. I'm so rattled that I can't think straight about how to fix this.
I'm sure it's simple, but right now I'm just spooked.
Can somebody help?
Thanks.

You are using a very, very, very ,very, very, very ,very, very, very ,very, very, very old (and unsupported ) version of LockBox. Don't you ever upgrade?
Being this is such an old version, there is probably not much you can do at this point. I would locate any and all copies of of the pwk on the old PC and copy them over to the new one. You may just get lucky.
The #1 thing you need to do is purchase LockBox 5 so that these things do not happen again.

I took your advice and have been using the new version. I have, however, another mystery.
My HP Envy Notebook reads the file.
My HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook does not.
Both run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (Home Premium).
Pavilion does not request username and password. Program opens unpopulated with data.

I forgot to add in my previous post this morning:
Neither PC has the program installed.
Both PCs are reading off the same thumbdrive containing the application and data.
