When it's all done and sorted, I'll put it on a usb drive and give it to the client.
I set up a notebook and drive for every site so all the important info is there to hand over when I'm done.
So far, no one has ever looked at their info that I know of, they still call or email for things like PayPal log-ins :o and other passwords.
Little did I know I could be charging $75 to supply this info

I had an idea, if you dont get the cname sorted, you could open a free account with DMonster, and send me a temporary log in and i can do a transfer in, and set up the cname etc for you.
Only because i know for certain how DMonster control panel works.

So far, nothing has changed on the SDrive site. I don't know if I did something wrong or it's just taking time.
I have to get to work now. Will have to deal with this later today.

Thanks, Viv – I'll let you know if we need to try that :)

You wouldn't believe what an ordeal this has been! Of course the name transfer has to follow suit and become a big pain in the @$$ as well
I think I'll go back to the Register site and go through everything again ONE MORE TIME. It would be nice if their help pages were available, instead I just get 404 errors.

I'm sure I must have something wrong. Where I entered the A record number for instance.

Find an input box referencing the "@" symbol. This is where you can configure your domain name's "A record." Enter 64.224.11.156 as the record for that field, and don't forget to save!

I didn't see a @ anywhere, just a *, so I put it there :P
Also, there's no save option, just continue buttons that send me back to the main panel.

Off to have another go at it..........

Have you put in a support ticket with register.com.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Guess I better start looking for that. I seem to have 'killed' the email as well as sending the site off into oblivion. :o
This just goes from bad to worse. I don't think I'll ever attempt another site transfer or name change.
What a nightmare this has been.

OK, called Reg.com and had them take a look – everything was in the right places and the site was showing up just fine. Email acct. is still active, no changes, so don't know why it's not working. Will have to have the client look into that.

Now I have a 4-product store to finish up :P

Just found out – the email glitch was only a coincidence. I didn't do anything :P

Now that the site name is taken care of.... How do I do that for the Shop?
I noticed that if I go to (for example) mysite.com then click the shop button, I go to siteshop.coffeecup.com. If I go back to the site from the shop, it now shows as mysite.coffeecup.com rather than mysite.com.

Is there any way to change this so I just have:
mysite.com and mysiteshop.com

......the never-ending project
