There is no coupon codes in SCCP. I have been told that this may be a feature in the responsive cart whenever they get to that.

Yes you would probably say that it is the #1 most requested feature for SCCP at least for as long as I have been a part of the forums.

I do a lot of events and would love to be able to encourage people to go to my website to buy, but it would help if i could offer discounts on there.

CC is working very hard right now on getting RSD completed and released. It might be a little while to when they get to SCCP, because, on today's internet, everything needs to be responsive, and SCCP is not.

HOWEVER,
there is good news. I use SCCP and occasionally need coupons. There is a workaround for it which sounds a little crazy, but it works. There are several ways you can do it, but this is my preference.

1. I create the SCCP site. This is my "Master" site.
2. I "Save As" the master to create one for the discount, then I apply the discount percentage or amount to whatever products I want discounted.
3. If I want to run a discount coupon, I set up a password protected folder in my site. The password is the code for the discount.
4. Upload the discount version of the site.

When I give out or email out notice about the discount with the code, I send the link to the discounted site. Please note that all changes are made to the "Master" site and then I "Save As" to create the discounted site. This means I have to reapply the discounts, but it's not usually that much work.

ANOTHER WORKAROUND
If you just have one or two products that you are discounting, WFB works great as a "Specials" order form. Build your SCCP cart like normal. Create a WFB form that has just the items to which the discount applies.


Both of these methods require a little bit of extra work, but they have been effective for me.

So, my question is if you will offer the new responsive carts software (any ETA?) then will we have to buy this from you or will you offer it as an update to SCCP since you've not updated it as you've promised?

No decision has been made on that at this time. When we are closer to a release, we will then decide how to offer it to our registered users.

Hmmm, so you ARE actually working on a responsive cart ??
