Unfortunately you will not be able to make changes to the theme with out the Shopping Cart Designer program. What exactly are you trying to change.

Actually you can edit them.

Find your theme's .sct file.
1. Make a backup copy of it before the next step.
2. Change it's extension to .zip (Right click change name).
3. unzip it to a different location.
4. Now edit this theme to your needs.
5. Now zip it back up.
6. Change the extension back to .sct.
7. Import into shop.

Hey Eric, am i missing something here? I tried to do the steps above, made changes then when i tried to import and use in either SCCP or SCDP they both says file has been corrupted? I would really like to change some css before opening in designer pro and keep getting this error too. No matter which program i use same error

Are you altering the existing theme or trying to add addition content to it? It seems that you can alter the existing theme but I have never had success trying to add additional content to the themes.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Gunsmoke,

What do you think of the above suggestion? Afraid to do anything until I get your opinion.

I'm here off and on. Getting back to work was , um, a lot of work! I'm kind of limited right now because I'm in a temporary truck and I don't have a power inverter for the computer. Will probably be another 2 weeks before I'm up to snuff. I'm sitting in a truck stop right now (of all places, Weed,CA).

Okay, so, what's up? If you are referring to Eric's comment about adding additional content, he's probably right. I haven't actually tried it myself. I just know that you can 'replace' images in the theme with your own, provided they are the same size.

Let me know exactly where you're at and what you need and we'll try and get you through it.

(Sorry for being off so long . . .hard for me too!)

Wouldn't it be a whole lot more productive if you were to edit it using the program meant to edit it? Shopping Cart Designer Pro is a pretty awesome program for editing themes and such. Would probably be a lot less headaches :)

I was referring to this:

Find your theme's .sct file.
1. Make a backup copy of it before the next step.
2. Change it's extension to .zip (Right click change name).
3. unzip it to a different location.
4. Now edit this theme to your needs.
5. Now zip it back up.
6. Change the extension back to .sct.
7. Import into shop.

I didn't know whether to try the above process or the one you posted. What do you think?

I hope you're feeling better. You have a tough job. I couldn't do it.

That's what Eric was commenting on not being able to get it to work correctly. I'm not sure anyone has actually ever gotten that to work. In "theory" you would think it would work, but truly if Eric can't do it, it's probably not going to work and will have very little support here for it since no one has gotten it to work. :P Just a thought. :)
