Wow. I come back to the forums after a month's break and this thread is still in exactly in the same context......

I need it now... I MUST have it.... Please Scott I'm deperate... I can't believe I have had to wait this long for my life to be complete... Is it here yet?.. Why oh why are you making us wait?...... LOL :)

OK here is the deal... The sun is shining out there and there is a whole world to explore before the winter comes along. The Pro version of Cart Creator isn't going to radically change anyones lives. It will certainly offer many much needed enhancements over the current basic version and has many new features that will make life far easier for many small business enterprises. In the meantime go grab your shades, soak up some rays and chill out with a long cold drink. I'm sure Scott will issue the release notes once he's finished his ice cream....

You know it makes sense... :D

Will, I respect your opinion. However, the main reason why I and many others are waiting for this release is because we need to have the sub-categories function that the basic SC Creator doesn't offer. I'm literally stuck without that, since my store sells hundreds of items that need to be categorized that way.

So when I hear people talking about how we should just be content with the basic program for now, I disagree with them. My client has been waiting over 6 months now for this release, and thankfully they are being a little patient with it; but as a web developer, I would like to move on with this project eventually.

No problem. For $5K, I will set you up with an open source cart that has sub-categories and all the shipping options you need. I'll require a 50% non-refundable deposit and the balance on delivery. You enter the products and manage the cart after delivery. :)
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

I personally see it a bit like waiting for a bus. You can either continue to wait, carry on walking, catch another bus, or do whatever suits your individual needs.

I have had access to the pro version for nearly seven months now and from my understanding as someone that has been actively involved with its testing and development, the program has been finalised for quite a while now. Only someone from Coffeecup can tell you why it hasn't been released. Do remember however that Coffeecup is a small software house, with lots of programs in development and with finite resources.

From a personal perspective, I am hoping that the delay is down to also developing the designer program, as apart from tweaked colours and different banners, a lot of the shops that have been featured in the showcase over the last few months, really do start to look the same to me now. A lot of us would like to see fluid width, as well as the two current fixed width options in the designer program, to enable it to be deployed in a wider range of environments. That is especially so for those that design ecommerce solutions for others and have clients that want their sites to fill the screen, independent of screen resolution.

And I would be happy with features inherent in a shopping cart:
o Item Identifier - using options field for now
o Search or must I learn to integrate CC Flash Search with SCC?
o Sub-categories
o Shipping discount for multi-items purchased

How about burping? Seriously, The site Buy It Sell It was changed to Highwire. For now I'm grandfathered (legacy seller) in at $9.95 per month, unlimited items and no other fees. If Highwire discontinues my legacy seller status my monthly cost may go up to $49.95 per month for more than 500 items. I hope to be in a position to close my Highwire store if my monthly cost goes up. So....I really need SSC Pro. Please....
Thanks

Meant to add my Highwire site link, note, still carrying the BISI qualifier:

If I close this store, off to the cyber bone-yard with months of work. Why I like SSC so much, it stays on my hard drive so if I change hosting, no loss of work.

PS: Still hoping for Pro soon....

I can't give an ETA still as we have many little variables that we are trying to juggle before launch. The software itself is complete as well as the changes needed to be made to Shopping Cart Designer.

Trust me, as soon as I have a specific date, I will be posting all over the place. ;)
