No way that would only dilute resource for the pro version
Be patient let CC concentrate on getting pro ready

Thank you for that kind post Ambassador Butler. I see by the comment below your links that your websites are all created with Coffee Cup html editor. Do you have a shopping cart with lots of items? Here's what I created years ago using cuteSITEbuilder:
http://www.universal-expressions.com/.
Lots of work trying to force a website builder into a cart format and lots of PayPal snippets. No search feature or shipping discount, however, I was able to create sub-categories and an item identifier. I planned to delete universal-expressions once SCC Pro is available. Rather than killing it perhaps I should consider updating universal-expressions and trying to incorporate CC Flash Search. And then actually promoting it. I barely maintain it other than to remove the PayPal code and say Sorry-Sold. Even so every now and then someone finds their way to it and buys something.

Hi Sally
I have also been part of the beta test team for SCC Pro. I do not have an SCC Pro cart live yet for same reasons as Will I am patiently waiting for the official release of Pro. My cart when it goes live will not have lots of items though and the search facility is a priority for me. My priority is inventory and shipping.
Will is spot on with his comments in his last 2 posts re the status of Pro and as far as I can see your requirements are there in the Pro version. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
Perhaps it is worth trying to incorporate CC flash search into your current cart while we wait for the Pro version. The gamble is how long will it take you to incorporate the flash search and when will Pro be released. Thats a tricky call without knowing SCC Pro release date.
Just be patient it will be worth the wait

I own Flash Search as part of a bundle so the purchase price of the software is not an issue. So I started Flash Search and checked help. First you create and upload files, OK. The next thing I read was that I had to copy and paste code on every page that I want the search box to appear on. I have more than 700 items listed, help! Months ago I added Google Analysis code to the SCC footer as well as a masked email address. I guess I could add the search code to the footer as well but expecting potential buyers to find the search box at the bottom of the page might be a stretch. Any suggestions.
Thanks

Hi
I made beta test with SCC Pro and have a small shopping with that and I keep it on hold, only fot test purpose.
You can check it here : http://www.jimmythesailor.com/shop_coins/index.php

It have a search box included.

I'm just waiting the release of the official SCC Pro to launch the shopping, I prefer that way and not loosing focus with others solution. I could use the basic but just prefer to wait.
I know the shopping is not my core business as it is for a lot of people but if I started with basic I will wait for the Pro.

I now have a search box in the footer of my cart. Jo Ann helped me on the Search Forum, had to do with incorrect server call-out. The search that is returned is messy but I'm on my way to actually having a much needed search function! Now to make it pretty.

I forgot to mention that I'm only using SCC Standard. Now with a search feature I'll patiently wait for SCC Pro, ya think?

Do bear in mind the nature of products that you are selling on your site Sally. Assuming that some of those are 'one off' items, the stock control function in the pro version will be absolutely invaluable to your ventures, to prevent you selling duplicates of items that you may not physically have.

Whilst many folks are looking for specific features within the pro version to suit their own particular needs, they will have access to all the new features within pro. Things like customers validating the delivery destination before the cart will take them to the payment provider, are going to make life far easier for most store owners. :)

Will, as all my items are OOAK and I list on other venues, I maintain my own inventory control via an Excel spread. Careful as I am I sold the same item three times over a period of several months; bone corn maiden and bamboo coral necklace. I had to take another necklace apart to harvest the corn maiden pendant to fill the third order. Now I have another necklace in stock and there it just reposes in my cart, go figure. I did have a buyer (from my SCC cart) who ordered and paid for two of OOAK necklace but settled for one and a partial refund when I explained that SCC has no inventory control at this time. So I'll be happy to have this feature. Wished I had the makings for the second necklace as believe me it would have been on it's way.

Well, the Flash Search I added to my SCC Standard cart is much better than no search feature, however, I do need to improve it's appearance.

The essential difference with the pro's search Sally, is that it operates on a 'wildcard' system. for example if you wanted to search for tiger's eye, you can just enter tig in the search box.

Using your current search method, if I try to go back to your home page from the search results, it throws up the following error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/mynea3/public_html/ccdata/data/data.php on line 33181

Thanks for looking Will.

Interesting, I was taken back to whatever page I was looking at before using search. Even when I did another search from the initial search results I was taken back first to the initial search results and then to whatever page I was looking at before using search. I'm using IE so I tried Firefox and was told I needed a plug in with a download button. I'll add the comment to my cart that search may not work with Firefox.

SCC Pro search may be better than Flash Search but half a loaf is better than going hungry.

Some time ago I had added a site mapper page to my cart, however, only a small portion of the mapper was allowed as I exceeded the build-in limit. So I renamed this page to SEARCH and added the proper code. IMO, kinda clever of me.

I added the plug-in so my search works with Firefox also, YES!

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
