Just couldn't wait any longer. The Christmas merchandise arrived yesterday and it just reminded me the season is just around the corner. We switched to Mals with PHP pages. It offers me everything I was looking for in a shopping cart. The switch to Mals took a LONG time! If you can wait on Coffeecup, do so. Once it comes out and we've pasted the Christmas season, we'll look at using the software again.

Yes, I think it is time to ask the question . . .
Does "soon" envision having the program in time for use for Christmas??
Oops, need to clarify, "Christmas 2010"?
I think that is a fair question to ask.

Yes, the Christmas season does start in September now doesn't it?
I remember when you didn't think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Then it was moved back to Halloween. Christmas marketing now lasts 3/4 of the year.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Well when you have to get a site up, listed in the search engines, found by the customer, and then ship the product to their door, September seems to be the deadline, now stop rolling your eyes at me young man

Who said anything about an online shop? I'm talking brick and mortar.

I also needed a fuller package and had to buy X-Cart.
So far it seems to be working and is not too bad to set up.
I sure wish that I had the time to wait to coffeecup.

Janys Hyde, you would be correct about your statements pertaining to myself.
I'm expecting there are some legal issues that have popped up that were not foreseen, imo.
I luckily have been able to put off my business in lew of other things. However, I am now starting to get back on the web again with my doll and bear business. My only issue is I need inventory control because I have one of a kind (ooak - not to be confused with the various forms of 'ook' that is used by my favorite librarian [must be a Terry Pratchet fan to understand]). Sorry, stupid humor forms in my head when I become a bit bored. I realize I can't use the other programs (cart designer pro, or cart creator) unless I have a robust inventory control (which I thought would come with the shopping cart to begin with).
I'm just hoping someone will just say why it is being held up. I'm ok with 'legal' issues, or 'last minute bug' issues. I just would like the courtesy of knowing and not being kept in the dark.
Thanks and I'm still waiting.

People say there are two roads you can take in life. Heck with that! I'll just let my feet take me where I need to go and follow my spirit!

Hey Tom - the snark wasn't necessary. I think it's a legit question. It's going to take a while to get the shop rebuilt and in my hobby, Christmas shopping kicks off the first week of November, especially for international customers.

OK, time to take some of the mystery away for some of you folks.
For those with existing Cart Creator shops, some of the things that you will have to do when the pro version finally comes out is to create sub categories in pro (if needed) and drag your existing items into those sub categories. Yep it's that simple. To use inventory control (if needed) you are going to have to enter stock levels for every one of your items so the cart 'knows' what the current stock actually is. There are several other things that you will have to alter too, some of which require data input, whereas others are just a question of ticking check boxes. I cannot give you specific details of those until a formal 'official' announcement is made on the pro's new feature sets.
I am sure that someone from Coffeecup has been noting all the recent comments within this thread, so are fully aware of folks concern about the extended delay. Sadly only someone 'official' from Coffeecup can give you exact details as to what is actually happening and why pro is not out on the streets yet.
