Hey Terry, it wasn't a snark (whatever that may be). It's a little ridiculous that the holiday now lasts 1/4 of the year in retail stores. That's why I replied with:
Who said anything about an online shop? I'm talking brick and mortar.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Come on fellas... we're all about to go buggy waiting for this thing.
I was jazzed about it in MARCH!!
That's a long time to wait when you've got an online store pending.
I'm bummed that I even HAVE to consider mals or freewebstore .org. UG.

I supposes its better you go buggy than your software.

We did set up a few sites using the basic SCC however our larger sites and clients are using cubecart. It's a bit overkill but more robust for the stores being created. I have only bought a few CC pieces of software and love them, but the waiting for so long for the "Pro" version has taken a toll on us and our clients. The question we have asked ourselves and clients, do we really need the "Pro" version any longer since they have all switched to cubecart.
Sorry CC but like others here, it is counter productive to keep waiting for a release when there is only small bits of communication happening. Holidays are upon us in the next few months and things need to be getting done.
Good luck in getting Pro completed and distributed. I'll still be a customer and I will be buying Pro on release but business is business and it needs to be taken care of.

I agree. This is ridiculous! This software shouldn't have been announced until it was ready to release. People have spent months and months promising clients new pages, new features, in hopes that Coffeecup would follow through on their claims, but to no avail. It's embarrassing to CoffeeCup (who still hasn't issued any type of apology) and it's embarrassing to those of us who use their software. I assume most of you (like me) who used to be CoffeeCup fans, have gone looking for other solutions.
"We make software, so you can make websites!" is a great logo, now follow through on that!
A piece of advice from a customer who's not happy with you right now:
Don't tell people you're releasing a product the day you think of it. Develop it, work out the bugs, make a marketing plan, think about what features you want and how they would best serve your customers, and then you can tell us about it!
Just my thoughts...

Actually I think that's a little bit unwarranted because the basic version has been out for quite a while already and the Pro version is coming from our feedback of things we wanted that the basic version doesn't have and was to much to add to which resulted in the evolution of the Pro version. Since they are taking our own feedback as to what we'd like to see in it, what is necessary, and so on, I think it's a bit hard for them to have kept it a secret don't you?
Other than that, there's never been a concrete date for release, only speculated ones, hopeful ones, projected possibilities etc. If people didn't get so gung ho on having things released yesterday instead of when it's ready, there wouldn't be a problem.
CoffeeCup could also say of people like yourself.... Don't tell your customers you're going to be providing something until YOU have it available to them. Same difference in the end I believe. If you promised your customers something you aren't able to provide, that isn't CC's fault.
Having said that, yes, I wish it was released also, but I also realize this is a full 4 program release and I also realize that if it's not out yet there is a reason. I am very sure they are not sitting there with 4 programs ready to go and be released and just not choosing not to.
Really guys, as much as I feel your pain, and I am wanting this release the same as you are, I think you're over doing it a bit. Don't make promises you can't keep. No "promises" were made on a release date for this, just projected hopeful ones that didn't come out and personally I'm glad they are making sure it's all working rather than releasing a completely bug ridden program for us to beta test in our live shops lol.
Whilst it may not make anyone feel any better about things, I also use other ecommerce solutions and keep myself up to date on what all the other folks are up to out there. One of those produces an extremely popular and very well known cart that is now TWO YEARS overdue with the new version, another is over TWELVE months behind schedule and the only cart that is in direct competition to the pro version will not be ready till the end of the year.
I am perhaps partly responsible for delaying the development of pro (in January at least) by getting Coffeecup to implement an essential feature that was missing. Jo Ann is also partly responsible (in January at least) for managing to 'break' the beta of pro so many times. However Coffeecup implemented that essential new feature I asked for and they sorted out all those bugs that Jo Ann managed to find. The result was a better featured and more stable product.that will benefit everyone.
As to the release date, it has been said before. Only someone 'official' from Coffeecup can give you that information. It may be ready for folks to capitalise on the Xmas trade, there again it may not, but until someone from Coffeecup communicates that information, everything else is just supposition.

Hi
Jo Ann is right and also Will.
I have told before if they are delaying it's by need not because they want. CoffeeCup is an software amazing company but is also a commercial company, they don't want loose money and clients only because.
And I just keep everyday to see if it was released the Pro...
Keep your minds cool and again Jo Ann's words, don´t do projects based on other's projects or based on "I wish..." items.
Have a nice Sunday

Just popped my head up to stick my ore in (narrowboats don't have ore's)
I seem to remember that the original shopping cart program was aimed at novices like me
And for that purpose it worked fine, and i have made thousands of pounds of orders as a result
When the PRO version was announced i for one was horrified to see numerous, people stating they were using this basic version to sell on to clients as a professional service ( it was not suitable for that i am sure)
When the pro version appears i am positive it will please and delight the majority of those waiting patiently for it, and there will be some who will i am sure disagree, and find fault.
I for one am only looking forward to one improvement, the inclusion of a place for clients to add their instructions for me to engrave on their purchase, (and apparently that will still not be an option on the first version) am I complaining NO I for one am very great full for what is available thus far, that a novice like myself can use, get found by Google, sell products from and given time will I am sure be improved immensely
Thanks to VSD , shopping cart creator, sitemapper, and photo gallery, my websites ar 1000% better than when I used Cubecart, or Magentocommerce
There are hundreds of professional ecommerce solutions out there but i have yet to find support that is anywhere close to coffeecup, or a forum so full of help and advice as i have found here.
So Coffeecup you have now been severely reprimanded, for not getting in here and seriously sticking your own ore in, When its ready I will probably be one of the LAST to upgrade, as I am happy to let everyone else rush to the front of the cue, I will sit back patiently waiting for the client comments and my Engraving option in later releases.
Moan over !!!!!!!!

I guess these days we are all getting use to turning on the news and hearing about cars being recalled, planes being grounded, or other products on recall because they were rushed into the marketplace before proper and due design could take place, I just never thought we would ever get to the place where "Just give me $^E%@ and I'll give you money" was the predominant ilk in the marketplace.
Now, I must go and do my weekly update to my Microsoft software to correct things that should have never been allowed out the door in the first place.
