Size of photo in Coffee Cup Design

I'm still working on my shopping site which I don't want to upload until I'm 100% happy with it. As a pro photographer I'm hoping to sell some of my pictures as posters (40 years material) and would like them to be viewed as large as possible.

I know how to alter the size of each individual product, but I've found that once I get over a certain size I lose all the copy that I've written about the picture, which obviously I don't want to do. The thing I would like to alter is the size of the picture once you click onto the product, as this comes up as a much smaller size, which kind of defeats the object of clicking onto it, unless of course I want to add more thumbnail pictures of each product, which I don't. Is there any way of adjusting the size?

When I preview a product and click onto the picture and it opens up as the small picture, by right-clicking onto it and inspecting the elements I get these details:

<img src="ccdata/images/imageMain_97_678.jpg" id="cbox_sccPhoto" height="428" width="302" style="border: none; display: block; float: none; margin-top: 0px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;">

Obviously it's the 428 x 302 that I would like to alter, but can't find any reference to these figures in my Designer Pro software. Is there any way that I can do this?

Would appreciate your help. Thanks. Rosie

Hiya Rosie,

What size are the photos you are using for the products? I found that using a size of about 600 X 600 was a good size for the actual image to use and then the program would scale the rest accordingly when you upload it. If you use smaller images then the popup will be that smaller image, it can only be as large as your image is, there may be a max size, not sure on that, but it's definitely larger than what you are talking about.

Alter the image sizes not the program files, the images can probably even be larger than 600 x 600, but I would recommend that for a good size and not many go larger than that so they can accommodate smaller screens too.

Once you have the image sizes to the largest you want to display, the program will do the rest as far as setting up the popup image that occurs when you click on them.

Adjust the size of the image display itself in Shopping Cart Creator Pro, but the large popup image cannot be altered within the program, and if you do the images (which is how you "should" do it) to the size you want them, then that will fix it all the way around.

Hi Jo Ann

Thanks for getting back to me. My uploaded images are 700 x 494 (resized from the originals, which are A3 size/shape), but if I opt for having the product size that big, I lose all the copy that I've written about it.

I'm going to be uploading it as part of my main website - http://www.rosiestillphotography.co.uk - so I wondered if, once I've uploaded it, I could put the 'shop' page into my editing software - Dreamweaver - and alter the size of the pop-ups in the code. Just a thought. I know it's not the end of the world, but being photographs I want my (hopefully) potential clients to see as much detail as possible.

On my main website I've got a testimonial page - http://www.rosiestillphotography.co.uk/ … nials.html - and although the page is full of thumbnails (I've opted for the size to show as many as possible) once you click onto any of the pictures, it comes up with the same photo + their testimonial, and here I can make it any size I want. So I wondered if I could do the same with my shop site .... via my website/dreamweaver, as I was able to inspect the code when I tested it as a preview, prior to it being uploaded.

Cheers!

Rosie

Technically you probably "can", but I would open a support ticket with CC first and ask them if there is any type of size limit on images. Not sure I've seen anyone ask about size limits, only size suggestions which isn't really the same :P

Let us know what they say, but if you end up doing the code, just remember to make backups of your code and where you changed it so you can change it each time you do an update to your site as the program will not import those changes.

Good luck on it, and hopefully they can give you an easier way to do what you need to do size wise. :)

Maybe I'll just stick to the size I've got ... sounds simpler.

But thanks for your assistance anyway.

Best wishes

No problem, maybe upload your shop to a test location to see what it looks like online and give us a link so we can check it out better too. Sometimes things will be a little different when uploaded than they are on our computers. Worth a try and then we can see exactly what's happening and might be able to give you some better pointers for image sizing too. :)

Thank you Jo Ann

Nearer the time I'll do that. Good idea.

Cheers!
