I downloaded the trial version and built a quick POC for selling theatre tickets:
http://chapintheatre.org/seat_ex2.html [note: My demo only allows you to choose Row B. I originally set it up so each seat went to its specific item "buy" page, but it works better for multiple purchases if I give them the whole row (see item 3 below).]
Here is my list of suggestions (I realize that some have already been requested). Can anyone offer me some alternatives that might help in this scenario?
1. I would prefer to set ticket prices at an upper bound and lowering them, instead of starting at the lower bound and raising them. This is a perception issue for my patrons more than anything. This is not available in this version, according to my reading.
2. I would like to allow season ticket owners to "buy" tickets at no cost. This would require some kind of coupon code. This also is not available in this version, according to my reading.
3. I would like to allow users to see which seats are already sold out on my seating chart rather than making them choose a row and then seeing the Sold Out icon.
4. The Sold Out icon displays on the category page, but not the "buy" page. Instead it only hides the "Add to cart" button. I would prefer it show Sold Out instead of implying it?
My demo page incorporates SCC, HTML Editor, and Image Mapper. Eventually I could even add Website Access Manager to handle season ticket holders, except that I can't use zero pricing. Plus I would still need to limit the number of free tickets, again this would probably require a coupon code that either allows a certain number of items (i.e., good for 4 tickets used together or separately) or through 4 separate coupon codes.
I would love to further discuss this if anyone has ideas, or if CoffeeCup wants to incorporate my ideas into the next release. Perhaps even a separate box office program.
