That's Okay,
Some other software let's you use one image as a thumbnail and another as the full product picture.
The issues I have, is that I have product pictures that some are longer in width other longer in height. You can only choose width for thumbnails and I have problems with a space top and bottom or at the left and right hand sides within the border (I want a border). The shopping cart designer only lets you set width.
Take a look at mandmcruiseproducts.com still a work in progress.

I see what you mean on the sizing issue. One (well 2 really) of the best ways to combat this are:

1. Remove the outline around the product (shows a light baby blue outline around them to me). This would then keep the white on white and the sizing really wouldn't be much of an issue then. It would blend in pretty well with the white background.

2. If the outline isn't changeable (can't remember if it is sorry, haven't had a chance to play with the most recent update yet), then one of the next best ways is to create a background for your images. You can see what I mean by looking at the shop in my signature. All my products are on a purple background with a gold raised beveled border. I created the background with Paint Shop Pro (pretty much any version can do this, the newer the better for results of course). Just figure out the size you need, make an image that size, then copy and paste your product images onto the backdrop. You may need to do a little resizing to make them all fit nicely, but once you get the hang of it it moves pretty quickly.

Then add your images back into the SCC Pro and you're all set. No more strange backgrounds or sizes as the products full images will all be the same size and fit nicely. Thumbnails will automatically follow suit since they are created by the program.

Hope that helps and let us know if not or if you have other questions.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I tried it without the blue outline and didn't like it as much.
Unfortunately the pictures do not have a single colour background. If it was white I could just change the canvas size around the picture, but it's a mish-mosh of different shades.
Oh well, I'll try and figure something out.
Alan.

I really like the program. Very easy to use! There are a couple of things that would take it to the next level. I offer coupons and discounts. I would love to be able to do this on line as well. I also sell a lot of custom items and would love to have the ability for my customers to add information to the order. It would also be great if you could bypass the shipping costs for items that are downloaded or sent via email.

Hiya Joseph,

I am pretty sure everything you asked for is in the works (or slated to be in the works at some point) for updates in the future. :)

I've been using SCCPro for a while and I know that these have been requested, but what I would like to see most are these:

1) A popup or some kind of thing that when a customer adds a product to cart, a pop up comes on screen and asks if they want to goto cart or continue shopping (and a little tick box to remember preference).
2) Coupons - I would love a coupon option, as I only use Paypal & Google Checkout, the only option you get for coupon codes is in google.
3) The for a customer to select how many items per page they would like to see.
4) A buy one get one free option, so if I put items in a specific sub cat, you can make it buy one get one free, if this is possible, would be great for some of my stuff.

There are more things that I can't think of at the moment as it's my bed time, but would love your thoughts on these suggestions.

Category Page / Category list : A scrolling arrow up and down would be a nice feature on the category list. I have so many categories ~ it would be easier for customers to navigate if there an arrow instead of having to go to another page to access categories lower on the list :D

The boys & girls in programming need to get rid of this trash. You have developed a top programme here & this calculation showing up KILLS it.

I personally don't think that is a good idea. Hiding that information does the consumer no good at all.

I see no problem with that either really, any normal person who had any small amount of mathematical education should very easily be able to decipher exactly what that number is for. I see nothing there that makes any site look unprofessional in any way, and in fact I find it actually nice to see that and looks more like the vendor is being open and honest about what is being added to the cost and why. Pretty straight forward to me. Just my opinion of course :)
