Unable to get shop uploaded- Help...

I've been trying for hours to get my store to upload. I installed 3.6 earlier today and it was so slow and finally I got an error and try again message. I uninstalled 3.6, installed it again and turned publish to off for all be about six categories. This was how I populated my store originally. Publish a few categories and once successful I publish more.

The blue upload box has "uploading" above the green progress line. I gotten many, many messages, for example, "an error while deleting imageMain_21_875.jpg" or "deleted from server:imageMain_23_585.jpg". The program is still running and the green progress line is only about 50% filled in. Likely it'll abort any time. Now it's deleting small_xx_xxx.jpg.

The only problem I had with 3.5 was the theme issue so for now I'm using one of the included themes.

The third time was the charm, success! Now to publish more of the store. I don't like the looks (theme) of the store but I'll worry about that tomorrow.

Sally,

How did you fix your problem? It is the same problem I have been having for weeks now and now that I think about it, it started to happen when I upgraded. Coffeecup blamed everything on my computer besides there program. Sounds to me like there is a bug in this version. Considering I bought a brand new computer and I sill have the same problem and all my firewalls are turned off. My server is not the problem either as I can upload with any other program besides shopping cart pro. To me the solution is not using an external program to upload that is why I paid for this program and what Coffeecup suggested I do. Super frustrated!

Hello Carlos,

I'd recommend double checking all of the 'Server' settings in SCCP. From my experience.the software can be a tad more finicky than you're used to and if one setting is off, then it can prevent the shop from uploading and/or upload it where you think it should uploaded (the folder can be created in a different location if your remote path is off). :)

A bad or slow internet connection will also cause uploading problems. I know we're having storms here in the mid-west of the US. But when a computer connects to the internet it may go through several servers before it actually gets to yours. A storm across the country can affect you even if your weather is perfect. Changing computers won't fix this. You might try uploading at a different time of day. You might try at 'off peak' hours. A better internet connection or service might. problem is 'noise' or 'interference' between you and your server. Your files might upload good once, then bad the next time. They might upload part way, then crash, might not upload at all. But it's not the program.

I use the latest version of SCCP v3.9 build 4296, and it works great. Now, I have a 'small' shop. It may be a problem with a 'large' shop in which case if you continue to have problems you might want to open a support ticket with CoffeeCup.

Gunsmoke, I think you are right about that. I ran a tracert and it showed "Request Timed Out" on line 9 so that is the issue. I did not think that was the problem as I have used the same internet for three years and that never happened before. I will contact my ISP. Thanks!

Well I thought it was my internet connection and my ISP assures me it is not. They said when you run the trasert if the number line is after 5 it has nothing to do with your Internet Service. My hosting provider says there is nothing blocking my IP. How fast does your internet speed need to be to upload to the server? Anyone know. I am able to upload with VSD and no problem. The remote folder I am using for shopping cart pro is public_html/shop. The same ftp setting as VSD. Windows Firewall is off and so is my antivirus Firewall. I keep getting errors. Coffeecup says it is permissions and they do not seem to want tp help me get to the bottom of this. I would understand if it had something to do with permissions on my computer but the problem is that option has to be eliminated since I have tried on three different computers including the one I am on now which is new and running windows 8.

I am assuming public_html/shop is the correct remote folder?

Are there any other steps I can take to figure out what is causing this?

I ran an internet speed test and my speed is 1mb.

I am assuming since I can upload with VSD it cannot be my speed?

Also, the FTP login is the same as VSD and it connects to the server fine so it must not be my server?

Could my store be corrupt or something?

I do not know what else to do. It has been a month like this. I am going to end up loosing customers. I even tried deleting my store completely off the server and re-uploading. Now I have no store on my website at all and no ability to upload it. I also tried with the free coffeecup ftp tool and it also does not work.

It will start the upload process but after check dir: it gives errors every time. If it starts uploading I am assuming it connects to the server?

Any computer wiz out there that think they can fix this? I would be willing to pay to get this solved please? Thanks!
