I've been working on this barndy.co.uk/shop/. When I first started this project, I had no idea there would be so many products on sale, it turns out I haven't NEARLYfinished yet, and still have huge amounts of different pet products to add. My categories list is now very long, and it will get longer, when you click on the categories button it already goes off the page. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can change this? I realise now I should have had categories for Dog Food, Cat Food, etc, and not done it by brand. Is there such a thing as a sub-category?
Suggestions would be very welcome!

Your going to need SCCP to add sub categories to your list to help shorten them.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Seriously? Oh well, that won't be happening. I already have shopping cart designer pro, and this customer is definitely not paying enough for me to spend $129 on any more software! Is there nothing I can do in Shopping cart designer?
Hiya Janet,
Unfortunately, SSC is based for the small shop rather than anything extensive, hence why SCCP was developed for those that needed a much more robust set of features.
SCD programs only alter the theme of the shop, they don't have anything at all to do with the content and how the content is added which means that you are stuck with SCCP being needed to change to using the subcategory. I can for sure say that it's definitely worth the cost, but in the end it all depends on if it's worth it for you and your client(s) and budget.
Good luck on it and hope you are able to work around it in some way. Maybe try combining a few of the categories so there aren't so many? Other than that you'll need SCCP to do the really good stuff.

If I buy it, is it easy to transfer my current shop to it, theme as well? I'd hate to lose all the work I've don so far.

There is no trouble at all. Simply open the theme and the software does the rest.

Hiya Janet,
If you decide you want to go for it, just take a copy of your shop files (makes sure to get the file that looks like your_shop_name.scc and the folder with the same name on it also. I usually grab the autosave folder too for good measure. Put a copy of those somewhere for safe keeping should anything go wrong you always have these backups to copy from then.
Once you do that, install the SCCP program, open your shop (not the copy of course hehe) in it and it should then adjust all things needed and you now should have a whole lot more functionality and features. Good luck on it and enjoy should you choose to purchase it!

I've installed the trial. I'm never going to make any money at this, every site I build needs a new piece of software!

You have to spend money to make money Janet.

It's not working. I have a nasty feeling I don't have PHP4.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
