Hi, Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm currently building an eccomerce site with the standard eccomerce pack - however i wondered if it is possible to create a "interesting" looking homepage rather than just adding products.... i've seen that in the example sites on the forums people have achieved pictures etc. to make it exciting on the homepage but i dont know how, thanks
Simple to do.
Just use the html tag within the product description to import those elements.

Thanks i'm using the code <img src="NAMEOFMYIMAGE.jpg" width=" " height=" " border=" " alt="" /> but when i preview my image it does not show correctly and i get a blank picture with a red cross in the corner any ideas?
The best way that I have learned to make an interesting home page is to actually build the page like a normal html page with an html editor. Then make your links on the home page link to the different areas of your shopping cart. This way you have the flexibility of design that comes with html and css and your not restriction by the limited options of the shopping cart.

I'm trying to insert an image using html editor however it doesn't seem to be appearing in the preview - i'm useless with html but i think i am doing the coding right can anyone help? My idea was to design a homepage using one image then place the html code into shopping cart creator home page
I do not think it will work in preview mode. I think you have to have everything uploaded and live to preview the images.

Rather than use a preview function why don't you just go to where the .html file is saved and open it directly in your web browser? That's the next best thing to it being on a server.

Hiya emmab,
There's quite a few of us that actually created extra pages outside of the shopping cart creator program and linked them to our shopping carts. My site has 5 pages (actually more than that if you count thank you pages, copyright page, and things like that that aren't on the menu) that are created using CC HTML Editor. The Home, About Us, Contact Us and the Referral pages are all done in HTML Editor. Then you can link the Home page within SCC in the setup area of the Pages.
Then just make your pages how you want them. I chose to try to mimic my shop theme (still adjusting it in places here and there) and created an external menu to mimic it also but that allowed for more buttons when not in the shop area. It's pretty easy to do, and you do get a lot more versatility of use of your pages if you go this way. Much as I hate to say it, SCC is pretty clunky yet for adding external images to the pages for placments and settings etc. This way gives us a much easier way of making our sites look nice.
