I come here all the time looking for updates on SSC Pro. I can not use Paypal, Google, or Authorize.net as a gateway because I sell electronic cigarettes and none of them will process those orders (knowingly) so I need Pro to allow use of another gateway provider. So as you can see my need is a bit bigger than most and my only hope is the final release of the new product (That has been "finished" for over six months now "just waiting to finish creating the install and the documentation").

So, one last time:

Q. "Will I get a special upgrade price?" A. "Yes" Just like it has been for the past 10+ years!
Q. "How much will my upgrade price be?" A. "Where will you be on Tuesday the 5th 2026?" We ain't there yet! Hold on, I am sure it will be great! (And I would bet a doughnut you will have a great opportunity to purchase some great new themes to go with it)
Q. "When will you start shipping the SCC Pro version?: A. "Now that is the really good question!"

SCC Pro will not allow you to just add any merchant Cain. It may add a few additional ones, but we will never have the ability for you use any merchant you like. The reason is our software scripts need to connect to an API that the merchant uses. We then need to have all of our variables match whatever that merchant supports. Then add to that inventory tracking, re-occurring billing etc, it becomes very complicated.

Cain, I think it is absurd those gateways wont process your orders. What was their reasoning?

Might I also bring some of the people that are getting a little frustrated back down to earth just a little. Pro version has not been "ready" for more than approx. 3 weeks or so while they are doing the documentation. Suggesting that it's been ready for 6 months makes things look really bad when it's not even close to the truth. It's only been released in beta for less than 5 months so please lets not make this look as bad as you feel about it lol.

Seriously though, it was "ready" for 'Beta' in December not for the public, and that has not even been a full 5 months yet as it was released right around Christmas time for Beta. If we look at this realistically for the type of program it is, the complication of what it needs to do, the major amount of security it has to contain for the merchants AND the customer, and the great content of how it all works with all these things, 5 months is really not that long for a Beta. I've tested much less complicated software for a lot longer than this.

Once again I think the hype was just a little premature only because it had a couple setbacks, and trust me! You will be glad that it wasn't released before those setbacks were found as they would have impacted us all. Truly think about this guys, this is a very security featured program, this isn't your fly by night basic website program that only impacts your website if something goes wrong. I personally want this software ready when it's released, I don't want to test all that security "after the fact".

Well put Jo Ann! In my day job i work for one of the larger banks and beleive me, 1 security screw up will ruin your reputation for years. I personally would rather wait months then to get something that had problems. We all have more than enough to do than fixing our shops/sites due to a progam problem.

Give them time, give them a break, we are all in this together and YOUR customers would be really %&^$&* at YOU if software doesnt work and it hurts THIER reputation........

BUT continue to tease CC about it.... Payback for the egg hunt...
