When did I ever say I wanted to add just any old Merchant? I never thought it would do that
This is software not magic! And I got the "It has been ready do 6 months" from Scott. Months ago (Not three weeks) here is one from March and I will find the other one: http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/shoppin … us-update/
So :P
I too, like all of you can not wait for all the new great stuff that will be built into Pro. But I would be happy for some bug ladened hot mess at this point that supported other merchant providers. That is all. Like any of the ones that are multi national. I wish we could all get rich selling Lego's and Turbo grip Barbie's but in the real world some of us sell not illegal items and services that many of us use, but no one wants to support. Everyone wants to pretend that without porn all the money for building the internet would have come from Al Gore (OK, perhaps this is a bit of a reach and all crap but I just wanted to squeeze in the word porn!)

And why the gateways wont process my orders? As best as I can tell it is because the FDA has not ruled on the E-cigarettes to say if they are good to help people stop smoking or they are worse that rat poison. If the FDA was to later rule they were bad I think PayPal, Google, and Authorize.net could some how be sued for facilitating the sale. The e-cigarettes right now are considered poison to the banking industry here in the US. Any Tobacco selling merchant is considered "High Risk" because of fraud issues? And they often insist that those "High risk" accounts do a fair balance of both card present (You standing in the store) and card absent transactions. The part that truly chaps my butt is if I lived in the UK, China or anyplace else PayPal would happily take my money. They even have some companies like Liberty-Flight and Smoking Everywhere that have stores in the UK and here so PayPal process those orders. I have spoke to a few merchant account providers both large and small that either have their own gateway or use a large provider like (But not) Authorize.net that have committed to offering an account as soon as I can hook to them.

I got my first Coffee Cup program in 2000. I own a copy of all but one and even a few that are now dead. I learned how to put together a website with my programs and many other wonderful things. I went to school back when the school had one computer that was in the library and it was an Apple : P
So I didn't get a chance to learn all this stuff in school and am so close to death that I have no time to wait for it to be done  LOL I know when it comes out it will be great! Not on time and not totally bug free because nothing ever is. But again it will be great. So stop sticking up for Scott you sheep! He is a big boy and makes the big bucks for listening to me bitch and telling me as much truth as is needed! Hehehehe (Now we get to see who "gets it" and who is under the age of 25) Most of what I post is in jest. Some of it is to poke at the guys a bit but I seriously doubt one of the programmers is going to go home and eat a bullet because of one of my posts... But he might get it done 15 min. faster (or later if he read this all the way to here)

P.S. I want a pony for Christmas this year Scott! oh and the hooks for my new gateway provider.

For anyone serious about building a new store I would highly recommend purchasing the Google ad-on. Of the three options (PayPal, Google and Authorize.net) I liked the Google interface and tools the best and the lower transaction rate will pay for the ad-on over time!

I understand your points Cain, and believe me I'm sure we're all as excited, frustrated, impatient while we "try" to be patient, and any number of other good and bad emotions you can think of as you are lol.

I for one am not sticking up for Scott or CC for the most part on this, I'm sticking up for "myself". I am the one that doesn't want to have the bug ridden software that I get no rewards for testing after the fact. I am the one that doesn't want to have to explain to my customer why the transaction they made for their purchase charged them Tax when it shouldn't have and have to end up refunding people for that. I am the one that doesn't want to have to get the bad name because my software charged the customer $150.00 instead of $15.00. I am also the one that doesn't want to be sued for having insecure software that a group of my customers had their information and credit card information stolen from just because it wasn't as secure as it should be.

My main consern here is in the security and completeness of the program. I may want it now, but I can for sure tell you I don't want it until it's ready. As I said, this isn't HTML Editor that will just mess up a website page which you can then fix pretty easily. This isn't an image mapper, or Sitemap creator or any number of normal web/image editing softwares that have no impact on other people.

This software will impact a large number of people, and if your site is super successful it could have an impact on 1000's of people. I don't know about you, but if my site were that busy, and I was selling things like hotcakes (which unfortunately I'm not yet lol) I most certainly wouldn't want to have to explain to hundreds of people a week/day (insert your frequency here) why their purchases are messed up, why they got sent the wrong item (because the ID shown in the email didn't pass the right one to Paypal), why the item my customer just purchased for 350.00 isn't in stock (because the inventory system was glitched) and they don't want any other item (lost sale tyvm).

There are a billion reasons to make sure this particular piece of software performs right the first time. Sure we'll most likely find little bugs along the way but.... here's the other catch on this.

You NEED this software to be easily upgradable. You don't want to have to uninstall it completely every single time. I for one would rather be able to just install over the last version each time. If they have to keep making extreme changes to the software, you will first off be constantly upgrading, and second off have to most likely uninstall fully each time. Some people do that anyways, but what I'm talking about is "HAVING" to do it and if you don't, you just screwed up your shop etc.

Anyways, there's a lot of reasons to be sure this software is working properly.

Oh btw, that post is approx. 6 weeks old, not 6 months :P So yes, I agree it's time, and I would imagine it will be very soon, but still not 6 months ago lol. :P

I love Jo Ann. With that said here is a famous quote:

Benjamin Franklin is credited with saying this: "I am sorry my letter to you was so long, If I had more time, it would have been shorter".

7... Not 6 weeks 7! LOL And the software will do all that stuff now.

No soup for you!

+ you got to test so you already have all but the last version! The version with the nifty install and this mountain of documentation that took 7+ weeks to put together!
Yes, I see you point about it working yada yada... But for the love of Pete just tell us it is no ready, Not "It is ready I just need to attach a PDF and toss it into the compiler?" because that leads some of the less cynical of us (Like myself ) will think like 2 or 3 more weeks not months from now. Scott should us me for a beta tester, or a battery tester, or a ur....I don't know but I fell very left out and kinda dirty!

I have to find that other post... BRB

In my defense, if I said it was not ready, I would still get 100,000+ questions asking then "when will it be ready?" ;)
