Does SCC send along country info ??
My servers are in the US, my websites are in English, my preference for language in any program I use is English, my customers are 99% international, 50% of which in the States.... yet since using SCC the PayPal screen comes up in Dutch ....... yes, I happen to live in that country.
Is Shopping Cart Creator sending that info somehow to Paypal, or is Paypal coming up with that bright idea all by itself????
I won't get payments done if customers have to learn Dutch first... fat chance !
Any ideas ?

I am in UK, speak English and PayPal now comes up with the Netherlands as my default country also.
It's definitely something to do with PayPal itself. It isn't particularly a problem for me, but no way am I going to start wearing clogs.

haha that is one disturbing visual there Will
Aha ! So The Dutch are conquering the world now, are they !!?? (Clogs come in handy with all the snow..... ).
lol Navman I just wonder do they really wear them?!
I used to go to Holland quite a lot and apart from people working in the tourist attractions, I must admit I've never really seen them worn by anyone. I believe that clogs were originally worn as an early type of safety shoe by industrial workers.
Going back to the original point though, I'm not sure why PayPal has assumed that someone living within the UK, should automatically redirected to the Dutch PayPal site. My first reaction was that my locale settings on my system had got changed, but no. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that has this specific problem though.

Will, I complained about this through their user 'support' *cough*..... at first I received a standard answer that I should change the language setting in my profile and then click Save.
Told them I'd done that a few times already.... and since I'm a Paypal customer since 2004 or so, never had an issue.
I now received a mail from them saying it is a technical problem, you cannot send a Paypal request in another language than your own (BS of course, since my language is English) and that their technical department is working on it.
Meanwhile I should change the nl to en in the link call to Paypal. Unfortunately the link call is somewhere within the depths of Shopping Cart Creator and beyond my influence.
So no, you're not alone.
And Jo, some farmers certainly still wear them. Actually, with thick woolen socks, they're warmer than leather shoes ;-)

I don't have problems with any of my shopping carts at all. That includes Cart Creator, the pro version I'm currently testing out, or my 'other' cart software. They all get taken to the English speaking PayPal site as normal.
Its purely when I used to click on PayPal Com to get to my console, it used to take me to the UK site automatically, now it takes me to the Dutch site for some strange reason. It does that on both my towers and my laptop now, so it isn't a locale setting at my end, but something to do with PayPal's setup. I've been with PayPal for years, but it is only the last month or so this error has started to occur.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
