Ok, I've done all the legwork on my comp at home and am now at work and I want to pull up the "SCC" file.

How do I go about doing that with the theme and all. Can I do it through FTP .. and if so.. which files do I need to download to the comp at work.

Thanks a bunch.

Well to just download it without prep, no I don't think so, but all is not lost if you don't mind a little extra work each time you are done messing with it at home/work.

What you can do is setup your ftp so you can access a specific folder, even use the Coffeecup Web Access Manager to protect it too which will keep your files safe then from prying eyes lol. Each time you're done for the day at home just upload the folders and files for your theme to that folder and then when you go to work it's there to mess with. When you're done at work then upload it to that file again so you can work on it at home.

It's a bit of extra uploading and downloading, but is a pretty easy way to stay on top of it both places. When you upload your shop and theme to your site it basically extracts everything and puts it all in it's proper place for you so you don't have to so the file(s) you need aren't actually there for the programs, only for the site itself.

Key here is to make sure you include all the files that go with your shop/theme whichever you are working on. So you would go to the directory you have your shop saved at and make sure to include the .scc file as well as any directories that have other files for the site and the images folder too. Upload em all and you're set to go to download at either location.

Hope that helps, even though I'm sure it's not the answer you wanted :P

You could always set up a VPN with your home computer... But I'm a little leary about putting my PC on the web for anyone to try and hack into...

I think I'd just save files to a USB stick and carry it with you to and from work...

Hi
I agree with Phil. If you have the system installed at work and at home you just need to save the project in a USB Pen and carry with you.

Do not forget to make a backup copy of the USB pen periodically ....
