Hi everyone,

I still in the trying period of the software. So far I love it, but I have a questions.

After clicking the add to cart button it shows a messege:

"Proceed to secure credit card check out with Paypal
Thank you for shopping with us!
We will now transfer you to our secure payment gateway where you can enter your credit card data."

Then it has to buttons one that said "Return to Shop" and other that said "Proceed to Check out"
It also has a little yellow triangle in the top left corner, like a warning sign.

Can this message be removed?

Thank you very much.

I am not sure if the message can be removed (I think it cannot), but regardless, I would caution you from moving it if you can. Oftentimes, moving one message means moving other important messages as well. Its a good warning to have on the cart program so the user knows they have to make a decision. :D

No, this cannot be removed. This is one of the things I don't like about SCC. Scott has said the message is by design, to let the customer know they are being taken to PayPal for payment processing. This step, to me, is unneccesary. In fact, there isn't any intermediate message like this when using Google Checkout; click the Google Checkout button and you are immediately taken to Google for payment processing. I hope this message is removed in future versions of SCC (or at least provide an option to turn it off).

I'd have to say that having a message that you are being directed to PayPal is pretty standard. I've made about 10 purchases this month on-line, and I believe all but 1 showed a similar message.
Maybe an option to turn the message off/on? But with the number that I've seen, this month alone, I'd tend to leave it myself.

I think it should stay too, but it would be nice if we could alter the icon that it's using so it's not quite so negative since it's a positive thing that it's telling you. You're being redirected to a safe secure place for payment shouldn't be a warning (yellow yeild sign thing) it should be something positive, dunno what tho lol

I really don't see why the message needs to appear. As I mentioned, no message appears when you select Google Checkout for payment. I might add that even when you purchase something from Coffee Cup via PayPal, there is no intermediate message saying you'll be taken to PayPal -- you are taken directly to PayPal's site. (It's true, I just tried it twice to be certain.)

Well hmm, maybe not just the ability to change the icon used, but maybe the ability to toggle the instances we want it to show up for? Give us a good list of what it's actually setup to show up for with a checkbox or something so we can choose where we want it to appear? Just a thought there.

I do know we need it, it's not something you want to turn off completely, because it will for sure be used when SCC Pro is released for some of the new features. But more control of it would be nice I would have to admit :)

I can see where a message/warning box would be needed or beneficial if SCC Pro attempts to verify that all required input from a customer has been met, such as selecting a shipping method or tax. Obviously, I'm in favor of being able to turn the message on or off (at least as it applies to PayPal).:)

I must admit that the ability to toggle the warning screen on or off would be a good idea, as to me it represents one more step to get to the payment processor. If that can't be done, at least change the warning icon for something less sinister like a smiley face. None of us want to scare our potential customers, in the final stages of parting them from their money. :/

BookPublisher is correct that the Google payment button takes you straight to Google, with no intermediate obstacles.

Thank you so much guys for all your input. The option of turning it on or off it's a great idea.
Right now that is the only thing is stopping me from buying the software.
I tried Paypal by creating buttons and adding the code to my pages and looks great and when you click the add to cart button it takes you directly to paypal cart without any warning message. Wish is great.

The yellow warning icon is a big deal in my opinion because as soon as I saw it I tough I had messed up the pages. And then after reading the first thing that came to my mind was: Why the warning if Paypal is secure?

If the option of on or off can't be created I think that a different icon would be perfect. Specially any other color but yellow or red, but if it has to be yellow then, what about a happy face.:D that I think we all like.
