Problems I'm having with Shopping...

I just started to work with the latest Shopping Cart and it is great. We're still working on getting it online, but I'm having a few problems.

One, when we go to the Pages view to add pages like "About us" and "Policies," we'd like to add an image. I try to use the HTML button, but all I get is the "alt" text of the tag.

Also, is the beta copy of the theme designer available? I notice a lot of people have their own designs online.

One more problem I've found that is critical is inventory control. I need the program to indicate "Sold Out" if an item is sold. In our case, we have a lot of one item only items. If someone buys it, I need to prevent another from ordering it.

Thanks

That is something that is being addressed by CC. Either in the upcoming "Pro" version of SCC or in a later release, I'm not positive which one off top of my head.

What code are you entering in the HTML dialog box? Here is an example of how you would add an image to the top of the page:

[[[<img alt="SCC" src="http://www.coffeecup.com/images/software/icons/shopping-cart_3.5_win_en.png">]]]

1) Our designer is running in beta right now which is why you see some new designs. We will be having a public beta soon.

2) As to your inventory question, please take a moment and read this post: http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/shoppin … eator-v35/

Thanks for the info on the inventory. I see you've already got that in hand. I agree with your method and the fact that it will make everything easier on the end user.

As for the image tag, I use the normal tag, as you show. I even moved the alt= tag as you show in your example and even used the src tag from your example. Still no image.

I might clarify that this site is not online, yet. I am using the preview. Would that make a difference?

It depends on how you added the path to the image. If you used an a full url like I did, it will work locally. If you just used a relative path, then it will not work in preview.

Tried the full url and still cannot get it to come up in preview.

New Problem
We have been trying to upload for days now to Infomagic who uses ProFTP. Shopping cart creator 3.5 kicks off their server.

Set FTP to passive mode
Tried both passive and active; passive was default.

Turn off anti-virus/firewall
The program was supposedly uploading when it kicked off the server. Yet when I check, there is nothing uploaded. I will try to turn off anti-virus/firewall to see if it will work, but I should not have to. This is definite security issue with me. Windows is dangerous enough with out turning off what little protection it provides. Your program is set to work with firewall and, in fact, the anti-virus has been told to let you play. It has, supposedly, been uploading.

The problem is that the program is kicking off the server at the other end. I cannot continually go back and forth on this; I need this program to work.

I have been told to set the global timeout to 999, but do not find where to set that.

Can I---and why not?---"publish" the store to the hard drive and upload the files with another ftp program?

V.35. Build 2357

Thank you.

I would suggest you call our office at 678-495-3480 and make arrangements for a technical support phone call. We will need a little bit more information to try and figure out what is going on.

We are open M-F 9-5EST.

I have. Orlando was working on it. I missed the call, though, because of time zones and the person who answered did not tell you that the problem is that the servers keeps getting kicked off line. That is why I have place it in here. Tech support, so far, seems to be trying to resolve and I appreciate it. All I can tell you is that your program is trying to connect to the Linux ProFTP program. I could call you, then Infomagic, then you again, then Infomagic, but you guys really need to get together.

When you opened your phone support ticket, Suzanne would have said Eastern Standard Time (notice my post above with our hours).

For us to help you through this we really need more information. Right now we just do not have that much to go by. Probably the next step is to open a support ticket and provide us with FTP access so we can run tests from our office.

I'm sorry. Suzanne did point out EST, I did not calculate and that is why we missed. She's been very courteous and helpful. The fault for missing the call was on my end.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
