I am currently studying SEO and have been using creator for a while. With online stores selling variouse different types of products one of the most important rules in sEO is that the items URL is descriptive to the item that is actually located on the URL. After recently downloading the last update on sitemapper i noticed that the sitemap now picks up on the item titles rather than the previouse versions which alternatively just gave the eg.productid=106 and so on which is great but i was wondering is someone could clarify me on something i may of missed or if shopping cart creator is slightly flawed in the fact that the URL's give a product id code rather than the name of the item or model number that is for sale on that page. Im still learning so would love if somebody could shed any light on my problem as im creating a new website with a shop created with this software added on to the side, not as the actual site itself but implanted within the root folder.

Hi. The url's do indeed give a product code rather than the item description. Many other php powered shopping carts also use this protocol.

Seo is dependant on a large number of factors, so the url appearing as a product code is only one small part of the whole process and would not have a significant impact on your site visibility and placement.
