There is an option somewhere on the PayPal site, to return the customer to a specified success page. That should be off by default. It is designed for simpler sites that use paypal add to cart, or buy now buttons. If that gets enabled, it will override any other settings and make your PayPal setup unusable for multiple sites.

As there is no sandbox facility in Cart Creator I'm not sure how the flow will work with the intended inventory control for the pro version. PayPal standard in its current format does not appear to tell the software that a sale has been concluded? Having said that, I'm not quite sure why Creator has PayPal Express when it doesn't currently capture any customer data? The usual purpose of Express being to bypass lengthy site registration pages, by collecting a 'token' from the PayPal site and bringing the customers back to the site to select their delivery options.

yep I mentioned that above that I checked it and it's off. I haven't really touched much of anything on the PayPal end at all. I do have a question if someone knows the answer.

Did we maybe at the beginning of the cart system have a setting that allowed us to forward people to a page? I don't know for sure but it just seems to me that's where I set it up was in the SCC. If not then it's probably the form builder I'm getting that mixed up with.

I have a copy of version 3.0 of Cart Creator on another computer Jo Ann and there is no facility on that to specify a success page. As the current version of Cart Creator appears to keep default options for the original shop, a success page would have been problematic for multi sites perhaps?

Our developers found the reason this is happening. Just not sure yet why it is not happening to all shops. It seems PayPay had changed the information they are sending back to the cart. The cart is expecting a parameter named: merchant_return_link, but that is missing when returning from PayPal. We are tracking down the new variable name. Once we have that, it will be a simple patch.

Here is the fix for this problem. Take the attached file and manually upload it to your root shop folder. This problem only relates to PayPal and no other merchant.

We will include this fix in the next update of the software.

Thanks Scott and Team for finding this problem, and proving that not all my problems are in my own head HAHAHAHAHA even if Scott DOES want to make me think so! :P

Thanks for checking also Will and clarifying and discounting the previous version theory :)

Sorry for resurrecting this thread!

Scott:
I seem to be having a similar problem. The only thing is, I am using Authorize.net. It's in test mode right now and it doesn't seem to want to remove the items from the cart. At the top of the receipt page in Auth.net is the following link:

Return to

and it returns to the /store/index.php
store being the directory I have it in, of course. Does it have anything to do with the fact that it's in test mode? Is that the wrong place to have it return to for it to work properly?
Thanks!
- Jeff
