I don't know of any software/shareware that doesn't remove the free advertising once the paid license is applied. And I have bought lots of creative/programming type software.

Maybe they should make and charge for a commercial version if you don't want the logo there.
This is looking to be a very nice set up and will be with allot of development time.

Although I’m am able and know where to remove the link, it’s a hassle I should not have to deal with.

Let me clarify this just a bit. We just do not support the changes you make outside of our software to the templates. If you have problems with the application itself, uploading etc.. we of course will still help out.

I agree with the majority of the comments posted concerning the Coffee Cup link. I have purchased just about all of the Coffee Cup software and none of the other software shows this link. As others have stated, when doing a site and cart for a customer, you don't want a link from someone else showing on the site.

Simply it is going to be a case of some people will not mind and other will be strongly opposed (I'm of the latter) so why not offer a check box to leave or remove the hyperlink advertisement or better still add a third option to input for your own URL.
Really, I can't believe this decision to cash in on users/peoples website after they have already paid for the software. Talk about double dipping

I agree that registered versions should have the option of removing this link or changing it to a paid banner ad or something. Personally, I would like to leave the CoffeeCup link, but with my affiliate credentials inserted! That seems fair does it not?

The Coffee Cup software is not open source and I would think that Coffee Cup would like a brand on their product.

By all means have the little (by little I mean tiny... really tiny) CoffeeCup Logo but not the great line of text....
....and worse .... it navigates AWAY from YOUR site.
At the very least least make it open a new tab/page.
CoffeeCup is amongst the most pro-active software developers on this planet, however with the release of this product they've gone from being a supplier of 'toys' to a supplier of a commercial product to be used for financial gain by others. The rules are different and you can't expect businesses, who have no relationship with CoffeeCup other than their website builder happened to use your software, to be happy with (or pay for):
a) Advertising another company, unpaid and without reciprocation.
b) A third party link that takes their customers away from their site.

I can go along with most of the suggestions on this page, but if Tom is talking about getting rid of the "I love Coffee in a Cup" diddy that plays when you install a piece of Coffee Cup software, I have to respectfully disagree. I love that little jingle and find myself singing it quite often. [Especially when someone asks if I drink coffee or not....I say, "I love coffee" then that jingle pops in my head.
]Sorry, just had to fight to keep that part of their deal. Ever since they moved away from Corpus Christi, I was worried they would change TOO much. So far the changes have been good.
