Ship one order to multiple addresses...
I'm wondering if Shopping Cart Creator Pro will offer this? Let's say someone purchases 5 bars of soap from the website, and wants to send one bar to each of his friends.
It would be a nice feature. Anything that could be sold as a gift, the purchaser could specify different shipping addresses for different products.
Shouldn't be too hard, right?

It's unlikely that a potential customer would even have the patience to fill out five different delivery addresses. You would also have the problem of people guessing the recipients addresses, so then you also have the huge potential for none delivered goods.
A further complication is that you would have variances in delivery rates, if those addressees lived in different states and countries and perhaps variances in taxes too.
Finally, sending orders out to multiple unconfirmed addresses would be a scammers paradise. It would be far too much information to pass onto a payment provider, so then you have to figure out how you are going to tie all those delivery addresses into which order.

While I do like the idea that Kevin presents, I have to say I agree with Will on this one. It would open up too many potential problems.

Yeah I would have to agree here too, I don't think having that ability is necessary, and to be honest I don't see that happening in many shopping carts at all that I've shopped on. You usually have the ability to store multiple addresses on many of the sites, but you are usually limited to sending to only 1 of them at a time. I too think this would get pretty messy.

Taking a very simplistic approach you could enter 5 orders and send your gift of a bar of soap to each person in turn.
I haven't seen any on line shops offering mutiple delivery addresses I don't think even Amazon offers the facility.

Great thoughts guys, I guess it sounds nice, but maybe people really wouldn't use the feature. I think it's great, but I'm not aware of anyone who's tried it.
good thinking, thanks!
