Since the last update my short descriptions are not appearing on the individual items page no matter which theme I use. Am I supposed to copy all of them into their product detail page now?

And why were my 4 wide columns reduced to 3 crowded instead with the update?

I have just checked your link in IE8 your short descriptions are in there

You are using classical jaz template with left navigation It has three rows of products

Classical jaz top navigation has 4 rows of products and larger thumbnail pictures.

Not sure about this but have you tried re installing SCC on your pc and uploading to your site again ?

I just checked again, sorry you are correct, titles are there but the short descriptions are not

And now i am not sure if the short descriptions ever have shown up on mine, i will try to check.

I have tried additional downloads, uploads and installs and the short descriptions still are not showing for any theme. Neither are yours so I was hoping Scott would fix all of them.

I only mentioned the columns because they used to be 4 wide with left navigation until the new narrow and wide style themes styles made it 3 and crowded for no apparent reason.

So it looks like the short descriptions is a programming error and the columns a mental one.

I still like the software, but the improvements are hurting the original product.

I went back through my previous installs, and I cannot find any theme that had a short description on the item detail page.

Here is a shop made in version 2.9

As you can see, the short description is not on either version. It could possibly be a theme that may have had that option at one time, but I can't see how.

Although the short descriptions don't actually appear on the item description page, if you check out the page source, they are still stored within the meta tags. From a search engine perspective they will still be able to read the short description for indexing, even though it doesn't physically appear on the page.

If for some reason you specifically want the short description to appear on your item description, manual insertion is the only practical solution. Whilst you could use the php source code to echo the contents of the meta tag onto the page, that would be a messy solution and not every user would want the short description screwing up their current display.
