Hi, just having a go with the SCC trial and need a bit of help.
I want the shop to be embedded within an existing site but I don't seem able to produce the shop without using one of the installed themes. None of them match my existing site.
Is there a way to create the shop without any theme? Just looking for a plain white background.
Thanks.

You can alter the theme in SCDP or with a html editor. I would go the SCDP route.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

And I do believe there is a 'Blank' theme.
It's in the 'Pro' themes.
It's in the 'Pro' themes.

Thanks all! Slowly understanding.
I'm assuming then that the theme is controlled by the SCC and can only be edited when the shop is published, and that any change made in SCC will overwrite the modifications when republished?
Also it's designed to be used as a standalone site? Not any way to incorporate into an existing site except maybe with an iframe?
I'm playing with the trial SCC and uploaded it to a spare S-Drive slot I had and it works even though my S-Drive account is Webbie, and not Shopkeeper. Is that right? Thought S-Drive had to be a Shopkeeper account.
And also that the individual files uploaded to S-Drive can't be edited?

And while I'm here, if I purchase SCC and then decide I actually need SCCPro is it a case of buying SCCPro at full price or the price difference?
The 2 programs are separate. You'd have to buy both at full price unless you catch a sale! So, if there is any doubt about what you need, buy the Pro!! Be sure to try it out first. Same with SCDP!
Also, SCC does not modify the theme at all! SCD or SCDP is used to modify the theme.
SCCP and SCDP ( Shopping Cart Creator Pro and Shopping Cart Designer Pro ) are 2 separate programs that work together to create your cart. You'd use SCDP to modify your look and feel and make it look like your web site, then use SCCP to add content and set prices. To really have an effective cart you really need both programs.

As G has stated, go with Pro and give the trial version a run. You'll be glad you did if your in need of theme customization.

If there is any doubt as to Basic or Pro, you can see a pretty good detailed list of the differences between the two here:
http://www.coffeecup.com/shopping-cart-pro/
Just scroll down that page a little and you will see a nice comparison chart that shows you that the basic version really shouldn't exist for it's lack of most all the features that anyone needs for a real cart. It's probably only good for a cart with just a few items in it, definitely not worth bothering with if you have a lot of products.
For themes you would need SCDP for either of the cart programs. It will edit themes for either version.
Check out the comparison chart though. It is definitely the faster way to see the differences between them which are pretty extreme on the features.
