change dimensions of existing column?

I am playing around with coast theme. I want to change the dimension of an existing column making half the size and then add another column next to it.
How do I change the dimensions of the column? I see in design panel there is a dimension heading, but it is just a heading with no options.
I have tried clicking on the column, double clicking, triple clicking, checked the forums and the RLM manual, but I can not find anything about changing dimensions of existing column.

You need to click on the column that you would like to change and then go to navigator to change the width of the column.

Hope this helps.:)

ok... I was able to change the span of the column from 12 to 6 to make it half the size, but when I did it moved everything on the page Every element, container, column was everywhere. I reset & then used the 'Dive Column' command & that fixed it. I now have to columns in that row that span grid columns each.
Do not understand why just changing the one 12 span column to 6 spans whacked out the whole layout.

The "dive" column could have been a subgrid column whereas you may have changed the main grid column.
It's only a hunch as I haven't looked at the Coast theme :)

Sorry about spelling.... I meant 'Divide Column' i have to turn off this darn spellcheck. It has a mind of its own.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
