I have done 3 videos showing a basic introduction to Site Designer, thats it for e now done my bit, what Cathrine needs now is a template I have already given her the link to site designer templates, then she is going to need showing how to edit that template (have tried to explain that it will take more than an hour to show how.)

I am chewing my way through the first video.
Thank you Wayan.
My other website is build in the 'old' htm and to a certain degree I find it easier to work with coding but something tells me that I will - once I understand Site Designer - end up being happy using Site Designer.

I find it hard to create a design in site designer.
Maybe I will end up getting a template that can be used for my new website where I can just copy and paste my texts because I am not much of a designer and I prefer just to copy and paste text.

I find it hard to create a page in the small version that works for smart phones.
In the regular coffecup editor I can can work with a template that has the coding so that when a page is created it looks good no matter if you look at it on a computer or a phone.

I had hoped Site Designer would have been easier to grasp.

I have watched on video so far. Will keep watching

Thank you Inger, for your generous offer to help me.

What I need to know is that when I will be using Symbol as language switcher - will I then need to use say EN as well as DA in the url of all my pages in Site Designer?
Currently I do not have anything showing like that in my ULR's and if I would need to do so then I cannot use site designer for creation of new design on current website.
I have been going through hell with google when I went back to htm after trying out wordpress for two years.
Google does not accept changes in url's and I am ready to go through any problems like I was experiencing. Now everything is good and I want it to stay this way.

Hi Cathrine, congrats to your new king!

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are asking about. I don't know how you will be organising your site, bilingual on every page, or separate English and Danish versions, each in its own folder, or pages in both languages together with just the file names separating them. So let me tell you how I have done it on this site: https://kandoraservice.de with three languages:
1. I have all the HTML files (well, PHP files actually) in one folder, the English files start with 'en-', the German ones with 'de-' and the Norwegian files with 'no-'.
2. There is only one index file (in German because the site owner is German), so the file name is just 'index'.
3. On the index page I have placed the language switchers, the kind of large-ish icons at the top right. Selecting a language takes you to the About page in that language.
4. From the About page onwards and on every other page there is a navigation menu. This menu has been saved as a 'symbol', a separate one for each language.
5. In order to select another language, you need to go back to the index page.

I don't know if this is helpful or not. If I have misunderstood your questions, you need to explain further.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hi Inger,

Thank you for responding to me.
I look at the example you shared with me regarding language switcher and the way that person has done it cannot in any way be used on my website.
My urls MUST remain the same which means that language switch cannot be identified if you will in the url.
Currently you do not see the language change in the url per se
Luckily I connected with a person who thinks he will be able to help me create the language switch so my url's appear as they do now so hopefully I will soon be able to create my website in site designer.

I know there are many errors in current web design/website so I hope to have my website fully recreated in site designer by the end of the month.

Ha' en rigtig god dag

HI,

I hope one of you can advice me regarding how to create my articles as well as blogs pages that each have many articles/blogs listed so for that reason on my current htm website those pages are split up so only 10 entries are shown per page sn then people can click on page 2 etc
How do I do that in site designer?

Thank you
