We had a problem with some Containers not maintaining proper position on mobile devices so we chose to delete the containers at this particular place on our site and replace them with a single image of the content we need displayed.

Our site is 960 px wide.

We sized the image to 960 px wide and 406 px high and viewed on mobile devices, both Android & Apple
They both display the picture at approximately 50px wide x 15px high.

We resized the picture to 800px wide and got the same result.

We're at a loss.

Can anyone explain what's going on and how to fix this?

The image itself is 684px by 881 px

as far as I can ascertain at this point there is no responsiveness going on in the code and the layout seems to be a mix of CSS-grid and the good old fashioned sub-grid thingy (12 cols (small) etc etc
The think I suspect is that the widths have been given a fixed minimum width, as opposed to a % width with a maximum width set to the require width at full screen.

Which causes the overflow on small screens,, however there is probably going to be some fiddling about with CSS-grid layout and the sub grid layout as well.

There should also be some optimisation done for most of the images, (this has nothing to do with the layout issue, but would dramatically reduce page load speeds (especially for those with slow internet speeds )

possibly savings of up to 90% overall image file size without loss of image clarity etc (
